just think about it: four idiots who each have some sort of issue due to past (relationship*-related) trauma get together into a queerplatonic polygamous relationship based on mutual trust and understanding :D

also I just couldn't fucking choose between the ships listed above so I said "fuck it, make the ultimate poly" and then named it --- with lots of consideration and research to make it representative of all four of them ofc :)

i also find this ungodly funny because like, Lloyd is ⅓ dragon/⅓ Oni, Benthomaar is a literal humanoid shark, Akita can turn into a fucking kitsune wolf, and Brad is over here like: ".......i like flowers"

This also ties into the name of the ship because....

The "Lupine" is a flower that is commonly called the "Wolf Flower," hence, it represents both Brad and Akita in that manner.

A "Leviathan" is basically, in and of itself, a big ass sea dragon, which represents Lloyd and Benthomaar.

also this would totally be their ship dynamic:

Daddy/mommy issues = Lloyd -> we all know why lmao

Anger issues = Akita -> ........it should be self-explanatory

Trust issues = Benthomaar -> bro literally got gaslit and betrayed by one he called his brother, y'all cannot tell me he doesn't have trauma/MAJOR trust issues after that whole-ass ordeal TvT

Attachment issues = Brad -> bro got abandoned by his only fucking friend and then had to see that same goddamn friend become famous af while he's sitting in some shitty apartment rethinking the entirety of his life decisions

AU to Make this Ship Actually Fucking Possible: they all met after the merge and just simultaneously agreed to stick around each other for company --- that company eventually turned into mutual (queerplatonic) pining for one another lmao

when Kai and Lloyd reunited, he was a bit confused at first regarding the others but then caught on quickly to the pining that the four idiots™ had somehow yet to realize.

the other ninja were quick to realize as well, even Jay/Rogue, who made it exceedingly obvious that he was really fucking annoyed by it. he actually tried to step in a couple times but was held back (both physically and verbally) each time by Kai and/or Nya. Wyldfyre did the same for a while. Arin was painfully oblivious and would be VERY confused each time a ninja brought it up during casual conversations. Sora just treated it like a nature documentary, and eventually got Wyldfyre to join in on it as well.

aight so I've been developing a marching band au and FROM THE START I've been planning on including lupineleviathan

lloyd + Bentho are both in color guard

Akita is in Drum Line

Brad is a trumpet (I think, I don't have my notes with me rn)

the thing is idk how to even initiate the whole ass thing

like, should two characters be already together and it builds slowly from there??? each "pairing" is a QPR one way or another but still idfk how to do this
