Good AUmens AU Fest Masterpost #5, June 28-30

The Good AUmens AU Fest is an event of over 100 authors and artists, all producing new alternate universe works based on a prompt that was assigned to them. They’ve been at work since early March and the works will debut during the month of June.

This is the fifth of five weekly masterposts. (There will also be an addendum masterpost in late July, containing any works that post during the amnesty period, which will run from July 1-21.)

A little prompt for you: Crowley and Aziraphale attempt to bake a cake together, perhaps a birthday cake for Adam or Warlock?

“How hard can it be?” Crowley had wondered out loud, approximately four hours and three burnt cakes ago. 

He was now looking fetchingly disheveled, hair coming out of its quiff to flop forlornly across his forehead, something that might’ve been vanilla essence smeared across one cheek, his outfit more grey than black now with the fine covering of flour he’d managed to get all over himself, and most of the kitchen, too.

Aziraphale held in a smile and gently suggested what he had been too afraid to suggest earlier, in the face of Crowley’s enthusiasm. “How about I nip down the road to that charming little bakery and pick something up?”

Crowley’s shoulders slumped in defeat. “Could just miracle it,” he said morosely.

Aziraphale winced. Miracled food was never quite the same. “How about this,” he said. “I’ll go and pick up a cake from the bakery while you get yourself cleaned up, and when I get back, I’ll come and join you.”

Crowley perked up at that. “Bath or shower?”

Aziraphale smiled, inordinately pleased with himself. “Your choice,” he said.

My Good Omens HC is that hell is unpleasant and the demons are miserable because they believe they deserve to be punished. There's no other reason why hell should make demons unhappy. Hastur at least shows us the unpleasantness.

It appears you are destined to be the one person of the night whose reading I am quite in love with. It begins thus: your happiness depends on your individuality, your independence, your taking care of yourself before anyone and anything else. You need to be smart about it - and by “smart” I mean everything from “educated on the subject” to “sly and ruthless”. For the time being, you can not afford naivety, as you are going for a result here. If something takes away from your happiness, resolve it: it is a harvest season, and some of the fruit is rotten. Find joy in your body and your mind alike, learn and explore, and always, always remember you are doing it for yourself first and foremost. Get selfish.

Do we need to change from ko-fi? I want to keep supporting you.

Not right at this second, and honestly I would have nowhere else for you to go at this point in time if we did. All the easy to use sites use paypal, and it’s paypal rules that are causing the issues.

If anything happens with Ko-fi, I’ll let you all know. But for now I am hoping the steps I took to remove all my links will be enough. Thank you for asking and for wanting to help, it means a lot <3

What does it feel like to be drawn to something like tarot, runes, or a pantheon? I want to explore the spiritual and mystical side of life but I don't feel like anything is calling me. Am I just not destined for it?

An absolute fascination. Like, you cannot get it out of your head. You may not know why at first...I didn’t, when I first saw a set of runes...but I could not stop thinking about them. I wanted them desperately, even when I didn’t know what they were. 

An absolutely irresistible magnetic attraction.
