LUST FOR DARKNESS REVIEW - STEAM
Developed by its own in-house studio, Movie Games Lunarium, Lust for Darkness combines a creeping sense of unease within two intertwining worlds, rich puzzle elements, and a strong emphasis on psychological horror.
Lust for Darkness features an intriguing plot with erotic and occult themes, which guides the player's character through a spooky Victorian mansion and perverse land inspired by Lovecraft's works and the paintings of Zdzisław Beksiński.
This title is for the more mature gamer.
This game has a lot of mature themes which was a great break from all the AAA games that I have been playing lately and I thoroughly enjoyed doing this review.
Being pretty new to Steam I wasn't to sure what to expect from this type of game (meaning small indie group) but I was pleasantly surprised.
I point out numerous flaws in this review but despite these minor gripes I had a good time with the game.
It's also pretty impressive that this game had no bugs or clipping issues in the whole 8 hours that I was playing it. You can finish the story in a couple of hours but I like to take my time and open every draw. :-)
The plot is a little thin and some plot points don't make sense but if you enjoy survival horror and want to support indie devs then I urge you to check this game out. :-)
Lust for Darkness is a solid start for a studio and I'm hoping that they keep making these types of games. They can only get better with experience and they have got so much potential.
