Interview: Lily Valencia

Meet Lily Valencia. The talented Southern California based photographer who brings a unique perspective through the lens and creates something amazing. 

Name: Lily Valencia ( IG @litttlelily) 

Age: 28

Location: Los Angeles 

Favorite Lust Piece: “My favorite Lust Ltd. piece would have to be the gold Ilona Bracelet. What I love most about it is that it compliments almost any outfit, casual or formal, on it's own. And it also pairs nicely with other bracelets or watches. It's sleek, simple style is perfect for me.”

Tell our audience a bit about yourself and how you found your passion for photography?

“I'm 28 years old. I was born and raised in sunny Southern California. I come from a big family; one brother and three sisters. I'm in accounting for a wholesale jewelry company and photography is one of my hobbies. I've always loved documenting memories, but it wasn't until I graduated high school that I started to experiment more with photography. With Instagram's popularity over the years, I've been inspired and I've continued to develop my skill and style.”

How would you describe your photography style? What inspires you to shoot and create? 

“My photography style is forever changing. My tones usually depend on the lighting and setting in a photograph as well. If you look at my work you'll notice there are a lot of warm tones and golden hour shots, but you'll also see a lot of moody, darker photos. I gather inspiration from other photographers I admire, but I get most of my inspiration from my surroundings. Whether it's the fresh west coast beaches, the urban and architectural views of Los Angeles or the beautiful mountain landscapes.”

How would you describe your personal style? 

“I wear a lot of black and white with touches of gold jewelry. My style is very simplistic but I like to think it has a touch of classiness.”

Does your style shown on social media match with your personality?

“I believe it does. A lot of my photography gives a very laid back and soothing feel. That's me. I enjoy spending time at the beach to watch the sunset, or going on a hiking adventure in the mountains. Great vibes, great company and most importantly, great memories to document.”

What do you see (or hope) to be doing five years from now?

“I hate to think that far ahead because saying goodbye to my 20's scares me! lol But in all seriousness, I hope to be doing a lot more traveling and photography in the future.”

“So tough! Too many good accounts out there but off the top of my head I'd have to recommend, and in no particular order, are @__kevohin, @nikk_a, @twistdee, @alinatsvor, and @kev_alvarez”
