Songs floating my boat this week:

Rae Morris ft Fryars- Cold. I adore male and female duo vocals. 

Meanwhile- Luvletta

Jude- Crystals. Sounding remarkably like Lorde. No bad thing.

Louis Prima- Oh Marie. Right on the BBQ playlist!

Allie X- Catch. Obsessed. "One to watch"

Postcards- Oh the places we will go. Saw this three piece from Beirut on Thursday night. Incredibly multi-talented musicians who sound so much better in their live form. Almost made me a folk fan.

I stumbled upon this tune a few days ago, and was immediately taken by its rapturous funky synthiness. Meanwhile is a mysterious, fresh act out of the UK, and his debut track Luvletta is one skittery, powerful, electro funk and pop anthem. It feels a lot like Prince, but more psychedelic and electronic.

Review Round-up: 12/05

New albums still flock out at us at an unprecedented scale, some bloom, some flop, some are great but are never appreciated and some build slowly – word of mouth ensuring that the record will see the light of day, only years too late.

Still the music press have been busy as ever, with new records out from the formidable Brian Jonestwon Massacre, Metronomy and Elbow.
