The answer was one he expected, because he knew her that well. He knew her, yet they were strangers. Names unknown, backgrounds unknown-- just faith and trust bonded them. Along with the fact they’d both been chosen to protect the city that loomed under them. Besides that, their connection was nothing. If their Kwami’s were stolen one day, they’d never see each other again. That thought burned at the back of his mind, and bothered him more than he let on. This isn’t to say he didn’t understand. The male knew why these boundaries were in place. It was to protect them. If anything, the fact she was adamant about this meant she cared about his well being. However she didn’t know the full story. Didn’t know what he went home to, and how much it truly meant to him to be with her like this. He wanted desperately to express his gratitude, but how was he suppose to do that like this? She’d never truly understand, unless he showed her the whole picture. “... There are a lot of things I wish I could talk with you about. Things I wish you would talk with me about. I know you don’t want to. I’m not... I’m not trying to find out who you are, or dig to find similarities.” Green eyes gazed out at the city as he talked, weighted as if they bore lead. “Hawk Moth preys on negative emotions. What if something happens to you, like say a classmate pisses you off to much-- or you get rejected by a crush. If you get Akumatized, what then?” Finally, he turned to look at the girl. “... I know you want to keep our identities separate. That’s fine. However I just... Your the one person I’ve allowed myself to get close to. If you got hurt because I wasn’t pushy enough to establish a means of real communication with you-- a means to find you if something is really wrong-- I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. I’m sorry.”
