my, what a BLEAK outlook on life, was it not? kindness was important to MANY humans and monsters alike, and yet… those words ECHOED in ember’s soul. they were never one to think much on EMOTIONS - in fact, quite the opposite. they HATED the idea of petty things like FEELINGS weaken them. they were STRONGER than them, and anyone who needed such weakness as strength were the weakest and most PATHETIC disgrace.

ember OPENED their eyes, deep AMBER eyes glistening with… something. was it tears? no, no, they wouldn’t CRY over such words. didn’t they just remind themself of how AWFUL emotions were? come on, now…
