This might be cringe but cringe culture is dumb so I'm going to say it anyway—I saw you bookmarked two of my fics and tbh the first time I thought it had to be a fluke lol and then the second time I just sat there like, unable to compute because you are truly the first author that really *got* me into the buddie fandom. After Buy Back the Secrets, I was Hooked in a way I hadn't been before & I've loved all your fic since. So anyway this is dumb but thank you for making my day <3 You're awesome!

i'm yelling omg!!!! first of all, i need you to know i only bookmark fics if i want to recommend them or reread them so it's definitely not a mistake or a fluke or anything like that. and also, i loved both of your post-shooting fics!!! i'll read literally any and all variations of that storyline and both "loving you in waves" and "i think i belong to you" offer such a good spin on it 🥰🥰

Everyone keeps asking people what they think would ~realistically~ happen to make buddie canon but how about instead--what's your most self indulgent wish/speculation for a canon buddie to happen?

okay but my totally self-indulgent wish for canon buddie has now basically happened in canon? which is that all the way back in summer 2020 after i binged the first 3 seasons, i wrote take my hand (take my everything)—the basic premise being that buck had a near death experience and updated his will to make eddie and chris the beneficiaries of his will which of course causes them to realize they're in love with each other.

and while i was writing that totally self-indulgent fic i was self-censoring myself bc my ORIGINAL idea was to write about eddie having a near death experience and updating his will to make buck christopher's legal guardian. but i talked myself out of that bc i try to write ~*realistic*~ fics and i was like "whoa, there is NO WAY canon would ever have eddie do that. christopher has actual biological family!! it makes NO sense to make buck his legal guardian" so i changed course and wrote the fic i did (which i still love btw) and then....

CANON WENT AND FUCKING DID THAT.

so like??? it hasn't happened ~*yet*~ but my MOST self-indulgent wish is that eddie listing buck as christopher's legal guardian will lead to a feelings realization on both their parts, add in some extra pining on eddie's part after he breaks up with ana and watches buck date taylor from afar, and then BAM. they get together!!

In the same vein, remember fanfic are stories! So it makes sense to follow narrative structure. Find one that works best for what you want to convey-three act, five act, spiral, whatever you think would fit your story best. Then use that to make your timeline/outline/whatever you need to visual the story. It helps so you don’t forget where you’re going next for a long fic, and it helps you also map the emotional journey. Good luck!

I would love fic spoilers so long as they’re tagged on the patreon cause like, I love spoilers but I know some people don’t. Do you think you’ll post things to your patreon you post to your insta btw?? Idk how much you post to it, I just deleted the app after everything about FB came out recently.

if i posted the spoiler, it would be numbered and warned and tagged so it should be easily avoidable...i still dunno if i wanna post it but we’ll see :3 i’m very tempted bc im like shaking i wanna share it so bad LOL

003. what fic are you emotionally attached to? hmmm...i'm not sure if i'm ~*emotionally attached*~ to any of my fics, but if i HAD to pick one, i guess so show me (family). i don't often put much of myself into the story or anything that reflects my life, but buck's relationship with his parents, and how i wrote him reacting to getting injured (including some of the injuries themselves!!) was super informed by my own experiences.

i tend to view the buckley parents (in my fic, at least) with more nuance since they are somewhat inspired by my own parents (early on, during the restaurant confrontation not so much), so whenever i get a comment of someone who REALLY hates them i get somewhat defensive 😂

006. what’s the hardest part of the writing process for you? oh...kind of bookends: starting a fic and actually seeing it through to the end. i have to be really INSPIRED to want to write a fic and i'm just? not struck by inspiration that often. and when i AM, i struggle to actually see it through and finish it. i have a lot of WIPs from my life that never got finished, so now i don't even start posting until the fic is complete

025. what’s the best personal gift someone could give you (playlist, homemade card, etc.) sooooo, i am ?? not big on gifts. like you know that whole "what's your lOvE lAnGuAgE" stuff?? yeah, anytime i've taken one of those quizzes or whatever, gifts gets ZERO points for me. i had an ex give me flowers once and i??? didn't know what to do with them so i ~*accidentally*~ forgot them at his place.

anyway, this is to say that thinking of good gifts is hard, but i guess if i HAD to pick, when my friend katy asked me to be one of her bridesmaids she gave me a box with a little handwritten note about how much our friendship has meant to her and included some printed photos from over the years, and also gave me a pair of thick socks and i wear them a lot 😅

030. what reminds you of home (doesn’t have to mean house… just things that remind you of the feeling of home)? for some reason my brain immediately thought of a roasting fire in a fireplace—we only lived in...what, 3 places where we had a fireplace? but one was when i was a kid (5–9) and then again at the end of high school, and there's just something about the sense memory of my father starting up a fire on the first real day of winter and the whole house getting that wood burning smell and the living room being all toasty and warm and lit by a gentle glow...
