ahhh--honestly i can not express how happy your sweet message made me - i am so touched. ;w; i am constantly and entirely floored by the support i enjoy thanks to amazing writers like you in this community, and ever challenged to improve upon my portrayal, one that is always under construction because THE CURVEBALLS ppl throw at me in rp ... If we want to get nitty-gritty with details, I technically lied about beginning roleplay in 2015. I actually stumbled upon roleplay on a forum for Disney's Toontown ( LOL ) back in, I wanna say . . . 2008? So, I guess I began on an online forum!

🐠 why i love (or hate) this hobby

I'm someone who used to write fanfiction. I always wished my favorite characters and pairings had more to their stories, or wanted to know what went beyond the creator's intended ending. Thing is, I struggle with writing chapter fics, and thrived with oneshots, but it felt . . . lonely, in a sense, writing by myself. I also had no idea how to write certain characters, which caused me to have a love-hate relationship with writing fanfiction. Roleplay, in a sense, is writing fanfiction, but it is so much fun to make writing a collaborative experience! It's for that that I love this hobby.

Now, on to why I can ( sometimes ) hate this hobby. At least, in the tumblr rpc, cliques run rampant, and callout culture seems to be the norm. Don't get me wrong ──── I firmly believe that callouts should be made if an individual is harmful and predatory, but posting callouts because you don't agree with the character someone chooses to write ( villains come to mind ) or the topics they depict ( dead dove comes to mind ) is a bit ridiculous and childish. I've witnessed several fandoms ( those I'm in and those I am not ) engage in such petty behavior; callouts, DNI lists, encouraging or sending anon hate . . . the list goes on. The block button exists for a reason. No one needs to police or bully others simply for not agreeing with them. We're all adults, here.

Honestly, I love all types of characters! Villains, heroes, and the morally gray, alike. I have written them all. Though, I do tend to lean heavily into morally gray characters or heroes with questionable morals, so, I suppose those!

A sigh left her lips as she stepped closer, searching her face for anything that might tell her it was all a joke. She found nothing that would remotely indicate that. “Well,” There was a pause, making sure she had Natalie’s full attention before she continued, “You won’t be going through hell alone this time, at least. You won’t ever be going through it alone again, not while I’m alive.” She would make it a point to be there; no one should walk through hell alone, no matter who they were. “Hopefully that makes it a bit easier.”

Jackie’s eyes moved from her best friend’s face to anywhere that wasn’t her, a feeling of guilt filling her heart. Had it always been this bad? When had it gotten this bad? Finally, her eyes rose, her eyes meeting Shauna’s. “I’m always here, S.” That was something Jackie was sure of, she always tried to be there for her even if it might have come off as bossy.

“Maybe,” She almost reached for her hand, but let her hand drop, almost fearing she’d shrug her off if she tried. “I’m always going to be here, you know. Even if you feel alone, I’m here and I’m not going anywhere.” Her lips turned up into a sincere smile, finally reaching for her hand, giving it a squeeze.
