Communism/socialism and food production isn’t much better for the environment. Bad farming practices in Russia lead to millions of dead Ukrainians and Soviets. At least with capitalism people can choose to eat from more sustainable places such as local markets.
the failures of the soviet union are not indicative of the potential of global leftist anarchism. leftist anarchism will be wholly dissimilar from sovietism, if for no reason other than the magnitude of the difference between “globalist cooperation between and among free people” vs. “regional practices under a repressive state that had made itself the enemy of global capital”
also, choice under capitalism is an illusion. at the very least, freedom of choice only exists among the bourgeoisie. i cannot “choose” to eat sustainably, because sustainable eating costs money, which i do not have

I haven't read very far ahead but I mean the anime lines up well with the manga (like lots of word for word lines). I haven't really seen anything problematic in the manga that's past what the anime's already covered

i've heard there's some transphobic stuff so i'm just gonna avoid it altogether rip

You could do fan art but you wouldn't have to post it.
mmmh, I’ve read about the differences from the manga and I hope it continues to lighten things up (I don’t... think i’d enjoy the manga nearly as much tbh) so yeah i think I’ll just stick to doodling some alternate more-dragony Tohrus until I see how the show decides to handle itself past these first batch of episodes ;;u;;

The lighting is really good in this one. The fully rendered feathers look very three dimensional.
ah, thank you! The male cardinal is somewhat close to being done and I just got started on the female, so there’s still a ways to go on this piece. I’m really glad that it has a good sense of lighting so far, I’m trying out a method on the detailed feathers that I’ve only done once before and everything else is what I’ve learned from this daily bird drawing challenge I’m doing. It’s kinda like emphasis on individual feathers on the wings and clumping it all together on the body, but if I can pull it off it looks great. I’m still doing a lot of guessing but it’s a learning process.
Thanks again!

mourning dove!
3 for doves, 1 for cardinals! When I get done with this next commission in the next day or two I’ll start up the doves.

CARDINALS
I’ll be doing the cardinals next! I might end up doing them more than once, they’re pretty interesting to mess with.

Thank you!! I hope to do another one now that I have this one down and a general idea of what I can do, gosh, I haven’t been able to paint for fun like this in a long time. It’s always been for classes or something along those lines and while this is technically still for a class, I’m able to do what interests me.
Plus, the professor actually urged me to do more dinosaurs lol.

Thanks! Once I get a decent picture of the final product I’ll post it and then I’ll be getting started on a second one. I think I want the second portrait to have a cooper’s hawk color scheme. This was fun and enjoyable so it was worth spending the day on the floor with the cat haha.
