it's about time i post these naruto agere headcanons...
also this is gonna be really long,, and there are mentions of padding and accidents(not detailed or anything,, but yknow how it goes, if i get anxious enough, the mentioning of those things will get cut out)
also a lot of these are just the raw ramblings of whatever's in my head,, there's probably a lot of grammar mistakes and typos n what not, i really didnt proof read these, i just wanted to share my ramblings
general worldbuilding headcanons
Because regression isn't well known/researched in Konoha, most adults(and children) discourage others from regressing.
Some older ninja sort of understand that it's a trauma response but I think they'd rather suppress that as much as possible. The Leaf kinda sucks anyway, so I think it's possible that ninjas would ignore other ninjas if they were to regress during a mission cuz it would jeopardize the mission. Does that suck, yeah, but realistically having a ninja in that state would risk a mission.
The jounins leading their teams are directed to not engage in the "childish" behavior if it were to happen, usually during a mission or whatever. Some of the jounin adhere to that, some don't. All the jounins care about the wellbeing of their students, but some of them show it differently than others. Also not many of the kids regress to the point that it's noticeable to others.
For example: Kiba is a puppy regressor, but since he's an Inuzuka, it's not surprising to see him act like a dog.
Another example: Hinata doesn't regress that much younger than her actual age, so there's not too much of a difference in behavior. She just becomes more shy and anxious and possibly non verbal (but she barely talks unless prompted when she's not regressed).
With genin that are more outward with their childish behaviors (Naruto and Sasuke...) it's a bit harder to ignore/not notice. Kakashi tried to get them to keep said behaviors on the low. But, that only worked for like a week and the behaviors got worse(for Naruto at least). Sasuke was able to suppress his regression for longer, but it led to unwanted outcomes(meltdowns, panic attacks, etc.). Kakashi starts encouraging the regression shortly after.
character headcanons(just for Sasuke and Iruka.. and you already know who has the bigger paragraph)
Most of the time Sasuke is freakishly aware of his regression. To him it's like a strange out of body experience. He knows that this isn't him but he can't really do anything about it cuz the trauma response just kinda overrides any rational or reasoning. That's why it's nigh impossible for him to regress voluntarily. Why would he willingly put himself in the mental state of a baby? It just doesn't make sense to him, especially since he's trying to be a powerful ninja. Acting like a baby's not gonna help him with that. Not only is he extremely aware of his regression, he tends to deny it vehemently(though this doesn’t really reflect in my artwork as much… or my fics…). Oftentimes referring to his regressed self as a separate entity to further distance himself from his trauma response, calling his regressed self things like “the child” or “it”. He’s dehumanizing the literal mental safe space his brain has automatically made for him. Most of the time he regresses by himself. He tries not to let his other teammates see him in his ‘weakened’ state(even though they know about it and don’t mind/care).
Iruka has a natural caregiver inclination(him teaching at the academy n all that). If any of his students are upset, he can't help but want to help them. Which is why he can't simply ignore any of the students that do regress boldly. He tries to be discreet when dealing with regressed students cuz he doesn't wana embarrass them. He also tends to keep regression gear but also just general accommodations and needs nearby just in case.

Sasuke only really wore diaps at night at first. He didn't like wearing them at first, but it's better than waking up in wet pajamas. He'd rather wear pull-ups but those aren't as absorbant. When he's really regressed in the day time, he gets to wear pull-ups, though he hates getting changed. Naruto doesn't like getting changed either...
Naruto usually wears pull ups when he's regressed. He doesn't *have* to wear them but sometimes he has the occasional accident
Okay so this is a test run... posting something I wrote

my writing is kinda mid but that's fine, i wrote it because I got scared of a thunderstorm yesterday and I had to project
if I had to title this i'd probably just title it Thunderstorm, idk
Flashes of lightning illuminate the dark room for only a moment… The roaring thunder follows behind it… It’s just Kakashi, and his students: Naruto and Sakura under some blankets, and Sasuke keeping some distance from them. A lone candle dimly lights the room.
“How long ‘til the lights come back on?” the whiskered blonde asks.
“The lights will come back on when they come back on,” the gray haired man says assuredly.
The boy gets to look mildly annoyed at his sensei for only a moment before another crash of thunder sounds. The blonde quickly burrows himself deeper into the blanket.
“What, you’re not scared are you?” the black haired boy playfully taunts.
“Nuh uh! I dunno what you’re talkin’ ‘bout!” the muffled voice of Naruto emits from the blanket.
“Yeah, you're totally scared, Naruto! I mean it's just some thunder,” Sakura also playfully taunts, but her sound is muffled by the blanket that she is also burrowed in.
Kakashi chuckles to himself as his chil- students tease each other. ‘They're so silly,’ he thinks to himself.
An exceptionally loud clap of thunder echoes through the room. Naruto and Sakura cling closer to their sensei, and Sasuke who's been pretending to be unbothered(but flinching at every clap of thunder) lets out a little whine as he covers his ears.
“The thunder’s not gonna hurt you guys. Y’all are safe,” Kakashi reassures.
“It’s really loud…” Sasuke mutters in reference to the thunder.
“You s’ould join us in the blanket,” the blue eyed blonde suggests.
“Doesn’t take a lot for you to slip, loser…” Sasuke somehow manages to articulate while shaking his head. The Uchiha starts to fidget with his bangs and the hem of his shirt. Doesn’t take a lot for him to slip either…
“Hmph…” Naruto pouts. The whiskered boy’s too regressed to come up with a proper comeback.
Kakashi just shakes his head as he puts an arm around Naruto. More thunder begins to roar, with a few flashes of lightning here and there.
“Uhm… How long is this storm gonna last?” The pink haired genin asks.
“No clue. Hopefully it ends soon,” the older ninja comforts, putting his other arm around the girl. She turns to look at her dark haired friend.
“Are you sure you don’t wanna be in the blanket with us, Sasuke? It’s warm, and comfy. I’ll cover your ears if the thunder’s too much for you,” Sakura offers.
“...’M fine,” the boy mumbles. He’s trying to keep from slipping any further. For what? Everyone in that room knows already. There’s no need for him to keep the facade going.
“Sasuke,” Kakashi can tell that the kid is tryna suppress his regression, and he knows doing that will only cause issues in the future. “It’s okay. C’mon, join the blanket, kiddo.”
The Uchiha grumbles a little bit but is unable to resist the idea of being cozy, so he hesitantly scooches over to his teammates. After a while the thunder has slowed, but the rain keeps pouring. It’s almost calming, though lightning continues to flash periodically. By now Sakura and Naruto have dozed off, being all cuddled up on their sensei. Sasuke rests his head on the small remaining space of Kakashi’s lap as he lets out a whine.
“Shh… you’re okay. You can relax, it’s fine,” the jounin says softly as he reaches to stroke Sasuke’s hair. With his teammates asleep, Sasuke feels a smidgen more comfortable regressing, so he sticks his thumb in his mouth and decides to rest his eyes for a bit. It’s perfect nap weather after all.
Oh the Lycan wrote something again... Oh she's projecting onto Sasuke. Oh.. oh the Lycan is venting...
Something something, Sasuke experiencing The Feelings™(regressing) and proceeding to ignore it because it won’t benefit him… and two hours later he’s huddled up against a wall trying not to freak the flip out because not only is he regressed now, he’s either having a flashback or intrusive thoughts. His teammates just think he wants to be alone for a bit, but he could actually really use some help right now. But of course, he’d rather suffer in silence than start being vulnerable and open. Exposed, unprotected, weak… Maybe if he closes his eyes, hugs his knees tighter, shrinks into himself just a little more… Maybe all the bad feelings will go away. Maybe he’ll feel like himself again. Maybe he won’t feel so ‘small’ if he keeps ignoring it. Just maybe…
Working on some ideas for Darkner OCs, the idea being a Dark World set in Catty's house.
Info under the cut! Especially since these are still wips.
Hinry Defran is a flat screen tv, having only been purchased a few weeks ago, he still stumbles around how to be a Darkner. His torso and arms are the only Physical part of him, whilst everything else is a Projection, based on the channel he's set to.
CiCi is Catty's phone. She embodies Catty's high school personality, and I haven't really settled on what I want her body to look like. (Ie. Whether I want her to look more like Catty, or reflect the kind of phone she is(Touch Screen) more.). I do know her "head" would be a wall of rotating apps. And instead of talking, she actually Projects a text box. (Which she also uses for her expressions).
CiCi and Hinry are "dating", but there's something far more sinister lying underneath their seemingly happy facade.
She's "older" than Hinry by several years. They're both adults, byt CiCi's personality and being, come from years of data that Catty has transferred from phone to phone.
There's a gimick within the darkworld of all Textboxes, being real, as CiCi writes them. She provides the "Closed Captioning" of the world (Hence the name, CiCi). The world is kind of built by manipulating the persepectice of the player through this function.
The player would Never get the true description when checking something for the first time. This is best exemplified in the first Fight/Encounter with Hinry Defran. When using the check function, CiCi will Lie, about stats, about descriptions, especially during the first turn.
With Hinry, for Example.
The first time The Player/Kris yses the Check action, his info appears as-
"Hinry Defran"
"Top Tiger of the Cat Tower"
"ATK 20 DEF 50"
But, susequent checks reveal more details.
2nd Check
"Hinry Defran"
"Top Tiger of the Cat Tower!!! "
"ATK 20 DEF 50?"
3rd Check
"Hinry Defran"
"Lmao, what are you doing? I said! He's the top tiger. Ugh."
"ATK 20 DEF 10" before the last line is hurriedly deleted, replaced with the "DEF 50" text from prior boxes.
And, finally, checking 4+ times,
"Hinry Defran"
"Closed Captioning provided by CiCi"
"ATK 15 DEF 10"
As CiCi gives up on writing his check descriptions, allowing his real stats to display.
This would be reflected in many areas across the map! Implying that Hinry, is not the one actually in control of the Dark World (The Cat Tower).
Then, ofcourse, there's Headie
Headie is an old pair of headphones owned by Catty. She's ysed them off and on since Middle School. Even now, whilst they're failing apart, Catty still uses them when she's doing anything online. Watching videos, chatting with friends, all ofnit.
So, ofcourse, when given form, the headphones reflect the Cattenheimer's alot. Headie himself has the Appearance and Personality of a younger brother to both Catti and Catty.
Throughout most of the chapter, he'd be carried by Catty. Usually on her back, holding on with his small claws. He's a sickly darkner, with fur falling out and being very weak in combat. But he's still happy to be of use!
Depending on player actions, Headie will either be repaired, destroyed, or left the same by the end of the chapter. This has to do with the Players interactions with Catty, Catti, and CiCi. As well as actively exploring the Cat Tower, and finding "medicine" for Headie, in the form of replacement parts.
Headie and CiCi have History. CiCi used to look out for him, but ever since CiCi learned avout the "planned Obselesence" of her current body, she started to distance herself from Headie. Instead focusing on how to preserve her current body. As she's grown, increasingly tired of moving from body to body when her current one starts to decay.
