@lycangene ❤ !!
“ ––––– I know you’re there. ” The thunderous crack of a branch in the darkness, the faintest rustle of leaves; there is movement beyond the pinewood, a quiet figure, shrouded in shadow. Her nerves are steel-wrought, tone unshaken, lithe fingers slowly seeking out the clasp at the base of her neck. A simple precaution, should her clandestine company be out for trouble. “ You might as well come out. ”
@lycangene gets a werewolf starter.
CALL ME FATHER.
“i----..... ?”
there’s a moments worth of hesitation. she’s not sure whether to yell at him or to laugh at him. call me father... what’s that supposed to mean? an intimidationtactic? a means to get his way with her? manipulation? this confused her andmade her question whether or not he’s even fit to be a shogun.
her guard is lowered for now. she mouths the words one more time, shaking her head as if to shake away these feelings of uncertainty. if this was a meansto create a distraction it may as well have worked.
a step is take away from him. head cocked to the side in mild curiosity she finally manages to say something.
“how can you be my father when you’ve no blood relation to me?”
“ Hate to do this, buddy, but if you’re gonna finish that, now would be the time. I’m closing up in five. ” The diner is barren of customers by now, save for one ––– a lone night owl nested in one of the booths, seemingly in no rush to vacate. Apology adorns her lips, a fleeting glance ventured as she wipes down the counter. Patience wears thin beneath the stoic surface; the dull throb inside her skull begging for relief only sleep can provide.
@lycangene liked for a thing.

in a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they’ll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muse’s reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.
she’d been thumbing the numbers for over an hour now . they had been steadily dropping for days and it was so close . for the first time in her life , there were only hours left .
work distracts her , people filtering through the door and she wonders if that’s where she’s going to run into him . how cliche would it be to meet him at a bar . either way , she’s got to work . her eyes constantly watch but the time is too far for it to be anyone that’s come in now . with effort she brings her mind from it’s wandering so she can begin to make drinks again .
one hour left . leaving the bar with the other bartender , she’s thankful for the early release . she’s not longer paying attention to the numbers on her wrist , completely forgotten about how close the time is ticking away . she’s tired , stopped more than one fight tonight and wants nothing but her warm bed . head pounding , she walks . fingers rummage through her purse looking for her car keys . it’s been a rough night , she is not in the mood to play this game . unable to locate them , she walks up to her car and mutters a word . the doors unlock and she lets out a sigh . now at least she can sit and search , planning to dump out all of the contents in the passenger’s seat . they aren’t there . she supposes she must have left them in the bar . apparently , with her phone as well . a roll of her eyes . she’s tempted to magically start her car as well and just pick up her phone and keys tomorrow . she’s not supposed to be relying on it so much though , magic was not a crutch for her and when what she needed was just a short few feet away , she might as well just go back in . 15 minutes left
it takes her a while to collect herself enough to want to go back in . she remained in her car for whatever time , arm over her eyes and seat leaned back just to try and dull the ache in her head . when it makes her feel less sick , she gets out of the car and makes her way back to the bar . it’s a good thing there’s a back entrance .
the attack comes out of no where and she’s unprepared . something slams her hard , and her back meets the ground . a groan leaves her lips and she rolls over just in time to miss attack number two . forcing herself off the ground , she waves her hand and the assailant flies into a parked car . she takes the moment to gather herself , thinking she was alright . eyes lift , only to see a pair of wolf eyes staring her down . she gulps , a pain in her ribs a reminder that he’d attacked her and she needed to move . he moves towards her again and she flings him once more . the action causes her to hunch over again but she doesn’t care . instead , she moves away from the bar to try and keep the damage to a minimum . yes , she’s ruined a car but that’s fine . straightening up and looking around , she doesn’t see it anymore . that brings a fear to her would rather not feel . terror fills her , she doesn’t know what to do . the deep growling around her causes her to panic and freeze ; she’s trying to determine where the sound is coming from .
one minute left
her back hits the ground again and she feels a bone crunch . somethings broken , she’s sure it’s a rib , or three . the weight on her causes her to lose her breath . a g i a n t wolf holding her down with just one paw .
thirty seconds left
a gasp leaves her lips as saliva drips onto her shoulder . she wonders what it is that she did to bring this about , but she’s been playing around with magic a lot lately , she wouldn’t be surprised if she had messed up somewhere and made someone really angry . he’s growing at her and she’s petrified .
it seems he is done toying with her as he howls , jaws opening wide on top of her . his paw presses down harder and she can no longer breathe .
three . two . one .
and then it’s gone , the weight . something’s thrown him off and now there’s fighting in the background . she takes a deep , audible gasp and then coughs , trying to collect herself . sitting up , she pushes herself towards the nearest car and leans back against it . eyes wandering , she sees blurrs .
a whimper fills the air and eyes train towards the sound . a wolf approaches her and she’s worried for a split second until she realizes he’s different . slowly , she adjust herself and takes a few more deep breaths . the head ache made worse by the fight , she looks at the wolf and she’s sure there is pain in her eyes . her hand reaches out and then stops . eyes move slowly to her wrist and then back to the wolf . she’s timed out , the countdown was done and the wolf was the only person in front of her right now . “ thank you . “ she coughs out , dropping her hand in an attempt to hide the blatant screaming of soulmate on her skin . she assumes the wolf wouldn’t care nor want to know about that .
