C’est le 10 avril 2010, au cours des Premières Rencontres mondiales de l’AEFE, que s’est tenue l’assemblée générale constitutive des « Anciens des lycées français du monde » (ALFM). Cette association porteuse de grandes ambitions, qui accompagne et fédère les associations locales d'anciens élèves, bénéficie du soutien de l’AEFE. Elle a notamment contribué à organiser, avec l'association locale de l'établissement hôte, le 2e Forum des Anciens élèves (FOMA), à Casablanca, au Maroc, le 23 avril 2011, puis les FOMA suivants (Vienne, en Autriche, le 6 avril 2013 ; Lisbonne, au Portugal, le 8 avril 2017).

Lycée Français PreK, Dance/Theatre & Science/French Vocab Ms. Reese / Mr. Sam What is the life span and evolution of the butterfly?

Academic objective: help students build vocabulary in French while learning the evolution of the butterfly life span.

Art objective: help students to explore different variations of movement, different levels, shapes, speeds of movement and to be able to transition between the different moves cued by music changes.  

First, the students crawled like caterpillars while Mr. Sam (who is acting as a tree) drops leaves for them to pick up and pretend to eat. When the music changes, they transform into cocoons.  

And when the music changes again, they come out of the chrysalis as butterflies and fly to the flowers. They each get a flower and drink the nectar.

Kindergartners are learning LOTS of shapes in geometry; square, triangle, diamond, circle, oval, rectangle, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, zig zag, and wavy lines.

Using movement, students made shapes individually with their bodies. Then they worked in groups to figure out how to make the shapes in an enormous group sculpture.

Our academic goal was to teach these different shapes in French to the kids and our arts goal was to have them use their whole bodies to create a shape working in groups.

We are learning about different shapes in geometry: square, triangle, diamond, circle, oval, rectangle, horizontal, vertical, diagonal, zig zag, and wavy lines.

Students made shapes individually with their bodies, then worked in a group to figure out how to make the shapes in groups of 3 or 4 together.  

You can see Ms. Gwladys helping the students organize into a square: 4 lines with all sides equal with 90 degree angles in each corner. The second picture shows the children in the final shape.  

Our academic goal was to teach these different shapes in French to the kids. Our arts goal is to to have them use their whole bodies to create a shape working alone and in groups.
