The moment the sun went down, the full moon hung high in a sea of black, Jack started to feel a little more alive than he did in the early hours. His bedroom was lined with sheet music. He had dragged his drumkit into his bedroom too, pounding away when inspiration struck. With an almost completed next album, Jack had enough music to fuel the rest of his career, it seemed. But, these days, he doesn’t quite write to impress. None of these songs are meant to be released out into the world. Not yet, anyway. They would most likely collect dust inside an old shoebox until he found them again many moons later and began to reminisce on all the emotions he felt while writing them.
When his muse for writing shot through the ceiling, there was only one person he thought to share it with. Lydia. So, he shot her a text, saying he was going to pick her up so they could hang out and talk. He was always honored that he was one of the only people she shared her passions with. That passion being writing. Sure, they wrote within different mediums, Jack a love-struck songwriter and Lydia, a storyteller with a taste for horror. But, somehow, it worked.
“Hey!” Jack calls from a distance, entering the premises from out of his car. “Well, where to, Beck? It’s your choice tonight.”
