Lydia didn’t know what time it was when the bed dipped, she was already sleeping. Or she had been, sleepily she blinked open green eyes and looked at her fiance. “You’re home.” He’d had a late shift at the station which meant it was probably in the wee hours of the morning. Opening her arms she waited.  “Are you coming to bed with me now? I missed you.”Â
Parrish had already showered and brushed his teeth before climbing into bed with Lydia. He rolled into her embrace and draped an arm across her side.
“I missed you, too. Had to stay late, Markus called in sick. But I’m home now, and I get the day off tomorrow, so we can sleep in as late as we want.”
