I think you might actually have been referencing my post here re: the current police system being like a condemned building! I was surprised because I came up with that comparison myself so I don't THINK it could've been anyone else you're thinking of, but I wasn't expecting it to catch on and I'm a little flattered to have the comparison catch on! (Have to put spaces in it so it'll send) h t tps :/ / lymm ea. tumblr. com/ post/620196232411889664/so-heres-a-wild-idea-cops-should-never-kill
Some asks re: And The World Will Turn To Ash! If your ask isn't here I might be a) contemplating drawing it or b) might answer it in another round.
So on your website you have linked the Pokemon series in chronological order which I really appreciate btw. But some of them were not linked which left gaps in the story. Jw as wondering when they would be linked?
I update the masterlist as I finish the strips themselves, thank you for your patience!
I was wondering since Noire is an oc character, did she bring back Team Rocket after Giovanni left?
This comic doesn't follow any Pokemon series chronologically, so no. Also, Noire isn't actually the leader of TR, it's still Giovanni, but the story will touch on that later on. (TR is much larger than Valor, Mystic and Instinct, they operate like a corporation; Noire is likely the chief operations officer.)
If Spark and Candela had siblings, how do you imagine them to be like?
Spark is an only child in And The World Will Turn To Ash. Candela is the eldest of four - the comic will touch on that, hopefully.
Have you considered producing a book of all of the work from 'and the world will turn to ash'? (As in a graphic novel/manga book not sure the right terminology) Because it has a great story line that seems to be developing and I think it would be great to view the work in chronological physical form.
It probably won't read as a coherent timeline, but it is something I'm looking into, mostly because it would be really cool. Haha!
Why is Noire hot? Don't do this to us.
That's probably because Blanche is hot too...that's terrible. Don't worry, the magic fades once Noire opens their mouth, they're an awkward angry bean.
It legit took me reading your comic 10 times before I realized Surge was holding a french fry in a later panel. Surge no. Your nephew said not to eat those. Y u do dis?
Eight-year-old Spark, next time at a McDonald's, side-eyeing his uncle: "Can you get a big one. Because you'll eat them again anyway."
Twenty-four-year-old Spark, at a late night fast food run with the other leaders: "Uhh you guys want fries?" "Why did you order a large one when you can't finish it anyway?" "I dunno." (Candela inhales the fries.)
1. Thank you so much for your art, most of your headcanon is now my canon.
You're welcome!
2. Personally and thanks to you, I headcanon Blanche as NB and Noire as genderfluid. It's pretty much the only thing they have never fought about.
It's something that never comes up, frankly, like... People are more concerned about the aggresively salty TR executive and the infamously grumpy Mystic leader duking it out in the middle of like, Family Mart. Over poffins. Family Mart management is used to this. They already have insurance for it.
3. Everyone else can have the OT3, I'll be here in my tiny corner shipping Noire/Amelie. And imagining that poor Noire would get NOTHING done without their long-suffering redhead. Again, thank you kindly. All your work is pure joy!
Their relationship is kind of...hmm, really strong? Even though it's not obvious. You'd think Noire doesn't give two shits about their teammates, but being protective (and possessive...very possessive. ask blanche LOL) is an integral part of their character. Amelie lost an eye because she took a hit for Noire on one of their first TR missions - Noire refused to cooperate back then, for various reasons - and the incident hit Noire very hard. They might yammer on and on about Blanche changing but Noire's a hypocrite lol
omg sorry i pressed ask too fst i meant candela hjolding spark bridal style is my new fave thing sry
Candela's very strong - and adrenaline too! She does these really tight hugs that lift people - even Pokemon - off the ground.

Okay, one, thank you so much for answering my ask! And two, are you trying to discourage me from shipping Spark/Noire because yoU ARE HAVING THE OPPOSITE EFFECT I'M SORRY I DON'T MAKE THE RULES (But no I just really like the idea of Spark aggressively shounen-ing at Noire until Noire turns into the 'he's still a surly jackass but I guess he reformed at some point because he's always hanging around now???' Piccolo of this series. And them hooking up for consensually rough sexytimes. Yes.)
Noire does end up cautiously hanging around Spark (Blanche is a no-no and Noire is still irrationally jealous of Candela. Candela has literally zero chill when it comes to Noire. Spark actually intentionally keeps Candela away from them.) but shit hits the fan. Fan also probably gets destroyed. Noire is an antagonist and still very much human. Oh, I hope that part of the story wrecks people…
Also on an unrelated note because I ran out of room in the other ask: what would a Spark/Noire/Blanche/Candela OT4 be in terms of food? I loved your food comparisons. Would it be the equivalent of going into the Coldstone Creamery toppings section and going 'just fuck me up'?
Probably! Somehow it tastes awesome and but it gives you indigestion afterwards. I'm not exactly sure if an actual quad like that will work out healthily (Harmony triad is strained as it is), but if you get them together for a day maybe they'll all survive.

"Well, that's what I'm here for, isn't it? To make sure everything remains in balance." *Squints suspiciously at Willow* Balance, hmm?
Some choices have to be made :^)
Whats ur headcanon age for them? It sounds like spark is the youngest and first to bond with the birds :)
I like to think they're all in their mid twenties, you don't exactly get named leader without some training. Willow is in his forties. You're right, though, Spark is the youngest, and he is the first to acquire his team's titan. (Which isn't all of an advantage as it seems! Being bonded with a legendary Pokemon carries a very high price :^))
I haven't seen Blanche get mad besides the time where Noire made them summon articuno but has any of them actually made them mad?
As in, actual rage? Noire does. Candela, too. (Blanche is the only person who can make Candela cry.) Both will be in the comic.
Is Spark literally beating the layers off Noire's bad girl psyche?
He's trying! Violence isn't a good way of dealing with anything, but it somehow seems like the only way to get to Noire, as Noire begrudgingly respects anyone who can defeat them fairly.
Okay in that drawing where you tagged that 'i never knew Spark had a berserk mode' Has he ever been really serious or mad at any situation besides that one
Spark's very, very patient, and to be honest, he's laid-back most of the time, doesn't get involved, etc - he hasn't had any reason to get that violently angry before. Noire has the distinction of getting him emotional enough that he forgoes using his Pokemon and personally goes after the trainer themselves.
How would Blanche react if Noire ever challenged them to a battle with they (Noire) was sick?
Blanche won't take the challenge. But they won't help Noire either. (Their relationship is mutually strained.)
who's more protective of candela, spark or blanche? cuz clearly candela and spark will fuck up anyone who messes with blanche, and blanche is all like 'you mess with spark get rest by articuno', so how bout candela?
Blanche, they've known each other for more or less a decade before the comic starts.
The Vaporeon is a boy, a girl, or follows Blanche's style? Lol
Haha! Vaporeon is male, Flareon female, Jolteon is male.
Sorry, still the anon asking about Noire and Blanch twinship but it suddenly occurred to me. In this verse, was it actually Blanche who turned against Noire?? Noire says that Blanche has changed and mourns for their lost sibling bond, was Blanche saved/won over by the professor and team leaders? Sorry, you've just got my head canon running wild!
It's a mutual thing, I think, along with some circumstances that neither of them could control, so basically, it was a complete shitstorm. (Just like real life sometimes!) A relationship doesn't get that destroyed thoroughly with the work of just one party. The next strip touches on the reason for this!

I saw you "candela wears Jimmy Choos on a pizza run" tag, and was wondering: does she try to convince her fellow team leaders to care more about their footwear ("you're leaders! set an example!"). Would Spark be all for it? While Blanche goes over to just ordering take-out before walking in those heels?
Spark is keeping his sneakers thank you, he's a sneakerhead. It takes a while to convince Candela to leave his kicks alone (’these are as legit as your omelette du fromage french label things Candela!!!’) but they're cool. Blanche, on the other hand, does try heels, and Candela realizes a) gracefulness in water doesn't necessarily equate to gracefulness on land and b) Blanche's legs + killer heels = deadly weapon.
"blabche also wears crocs" That is the most offensive thing anyone's ever said ever
When not in the lab or the pool Blanche wears them! They're magenta and comfy and they also make Candela cringe, so win-win.
Would you classify Blanche as a tsundere in your comics?
Not really, Blanche doesn't have a deredere side.
I'm worried constantly abt Noire like is their tummy going to get cold?? can Amelie convince them to put on a shirt?? I'm so concerned for their health
Noire likes to uh, show off. They once showed up with the coat belted and the team was like ??? Chief what happened??? And it's Noire who usually makes Amelie wear outerwear. ('It's cold. Wear my coat.' 'It's the middle of summer you just want me to wear your clothes.' 'Excuse me, how dare you - okay whatever just wear the damn thing.')
Am I the only one that sees Noire as a tsundre workplace mum to the Rocket grunts, especially the younger ones?
Nope! Tsundere might be too strong a word, but Noire genuinely cares for the team. Like ok they might tell you you're shit, but if they have the time Noire will help you become 'acceptably shitty'. Kind of like the saltiest personal trainer you'll ever have?
Does Noire have a brother/sister complex towards Blanche?
That is a very, very big understatement.
I headcanon that Blanche's vaporeon and Noir's evee are also siblings! Blanche and Noir are maybe pretty familiar with each other's older pokemon on a personal level
Their Eevees come from the same 'clutch'. Noire's Eevee usually sneaks out to play with Blanche's Vaporeon, but she's terrified of Blanche.
Not sure if anyone else asked this but is Lugia going to come into play with your story and out there somewhere there's a trainer that's like the team leaders who can summon it?
Well, there is a reason why the comic is named 'And The World Will Turn To Ash' :^)
So remember when I said my friend @lymmea was watching KHR for the first time and hit Kokuyo Arc? I picked some more notable reactions throughout the first episode.
i 100% believe that while jade curtiss and dist the reaper are both ravenclaw, jade leans slytherin while dist leans hufflepuff and nothing will convince me otherwise
jade is kind of easy. he compensates for his confusion with other people, like, being alive and having feelings with brilliant social maneuvering, observation, and nuance; he will never do anything he can get somebody else to do just as well, but will always step in and get his hands dirty or bloody if he feels he has to. to the very few people who can call him a friend or ally, he can be loyal and thoughtful even though he doesn’t really understand why others do things that don’t make sense to him. he is efficient and precise, traits of both ravenclaw and slytherin, and like a ‘claw values knowledge for its own sake, but like a slytherin is adept at using it to gain the social and political upper hand. this is why you do not fuck with jade curtiss. he will wreck your shit.
dist, meanwhile, is incredibly emotional. his only goal, throughout every interaction you have with him, is to rebuild the family he feels he’s lost, through reviving nebilim and turning jade back into a friend. (and, i mean, killing people, but it’s in pursuit of that goal; he’s one of those ‘cool motive, still murder’ characters.) when anise approaches and talks with him, he takes interest in her personal life and tries to help her feel better when she’s bullied, even in his weird tsundere I JUST FIXED YOUR THING FOR AN EXPERIMENT IT DOESN’T MEAN I LIKE YOU way. he insults her parents but it’s not to upset her; he and jade have similar problems in that they kind of misjudge how the things they say and do affect other people and what can seem like a simple statement of fact - to both of them - can be interpreted in a wholly different way by somebody else. dist is fundamentally lonely, because a puff without a network of support will find themself lost very quickly. He could likely build a much better one than what he had if he stopped living in the past so much, but a lifetime in pursuit of a single goal can easily give a person blinders and subject them to a sunk cost fallacy type of situation. his specialty being machines likely gives him a ‘this part goes in this spot and then the thing will work why isn’t it working’ point of view too, which can hinder his ability to look for other options.
it’s imo also kind of a nice turn on the ‘slytherins are always amoral schemers who can corrupt at the drop of a hat and puffs are nice and sweet and bake everybody cookies’ narrative that i sometimes see? puffs can do awful things and slytherins can recognize when their behavior is manipulative(even when it takes prodding from a gryffindor-puff of a bff, and he even acknowledges that, while he doesn’t understand why some things he does are wrong, he tries to figure out ‘okay this is what we do when we don’t subscribe to 100% moral relativism which generally people don’t and that’s fine????’). their tendency towards insatiable curiosity and status as mad scientists place them both squarely in ravenclaw for me, but their social personas are very different and if secondary houses were a thing i think this is how they would pan out
my friend just asked if I wanted a repost of our last RP posts to continue but her computer did something weird and she ended up asking me if I needed the D
