How I got started....
I started making jewelry with those little kits that every little girl gets at some point. You know, the ones that parents hate cause you always end up spilling them at some point. And like every other little girl, I packed those away with my dolls and plastic tea cups and didn't think much of them for a while.
Well, one year I wanted to give my friends all a little something for Christmas to be nice. Just some small, nice gift. Well, I was also pretty broke. I spent most of my money on presents for my parents and other various family members. So what to give my friends for Christmas? What about bracelets? Cheap, easy, and nice enough.
So I bought the needed packages of beads with what was left of my money and made the twelve-ish bracelets. [Yes, I have that many friends I wanted to give presents to.] And they loved them. Frankly, that surprised me. They didn't seem too special or cool or neat or whatever to me. But if my friends think so.....
One of my close friends knits very well, she does a lot of custom orders and some etsy listings. I decided to try to sell on etsy as well. Why not? What did I have to lose really by trying to sell on etsy?
So that how I started my little jewelry biz. :)
