With the Danger Days reissue, a lot of people were confused as to why they removed all of Dr. Death Defying’s lines from the deluxe edition—including the intros to "Na Na Na" and "Look Alive, Sunshine"—given their relevance to the album's lore.
Let’s be real: the only time that intro was performed live was at the 2019 ExpoShine show in Los Angeles—the comeback gig. And honestly, you aren't missing anything by not being forced to listen to that intro just for the catchphrases. Plus, aside from the obvious copyright issues, wanting to remain associated with a band member—specifically one whose frontman was in court accused of rape and being a predator of minors—would have been a total disaster. Fans already have to put up with a certain member just because she got married; having to listen to the voice of her alleged ex-lover on top of that? No way.
The fact that they scrapped this character's lines simply because the role was performed by the MSI guitarist completely debunks the theory from that Carrd claiming Lindsey was hugely important to Danger Days just because she coined the phrase "The Afternoon is Secondary." Yeah, aside from "Summertime," she has about as much relevance as the character Show Pony (whom they could have scrapped too, seeing as that guy is a MAGA supporter).
Anyway... you guys liked the character before you even knew who was behind the voice, and let's face it, you wouldn't want to get a tattoo or drawing of a guitarist who freely wore buttons with Nazi symbols around town, so just suck it up.🥱
