How are Paulie and Harry doing on this fine September day?
They actually just went out to take Harvey on a nice walk! Summer’s basically over, the leaves have started changing colours and there’s a slight chill in the air that wasn’t there just a few days ago. Harry holds Harvey’s leash in one hand and Paulie’s hand in his other and they talk about their respective days at work. They’re glad that they took the afternoon off to spend some time together.
“I’m actually quite pleased that autumn’s just around the corner,” Paulie says.
“Yeah? I feel like summer has just lasted for like.. a day or two,” Harry responds. He’s not as enthusiastic about the colder weather.
“Just think... you, me ‘n Harvey. On the sofa. Tea. Biscuits. When Harry Met Sally on the telly. It’s pouring down outside and we’re locked in our flat and there’s just us and we’re warm and comfy and everything’s perfect.”
Harry watches her speak. He loves it when she gets carried away and when she’s rambling about random things. As she paints the mental picture of their perfect autumn Sunday afternoon he stops in his tracks, pulls Paulie back to him by her hand and she stumbles a little. She catches herself with a hand on his chest.
“What’s wrong?” she asks.
“Nothing. I just love you. I fucking love you,” Harry says and kisses her lips, softly at first but then with a little more intensity as if to make sure she really understands just... how much he loves her.
For the prompt thing! #2 - "you didn't do the dishes, I'm not doing you." For Paulie and Harry! Thanks love! :)
thank you for sending this in! i hope it turned out okay! x
The first thing Harry saw when he came back to Paulie’s flat was the huge mountain of dishes and pans and bowls and pots in the sink that he left there the night before. Paulie had promised to clean up because he had done the cooking. Apparently she hadn’t held up her end of the deal.
“Are you serious?” he asked after he took off his coat and shoes by the door.
“What?” Paulie asked, peeking out from under the throw blanket she had wrapped herself up in, knowing exactly what Harry was talking about.
“The dishes? We had a deal. I cook, you clean,” he said as he came to stand at the end of the couch were Paulie’s feet were tucked under a pillow.
“I know but I fell asleep yesterday right after you left and then I was busy all day today and now I’m tired so…,” Paulie explained.
“You do realise that now everything’s dried up it’s gonna be a hell of a lot harder to get it clean again, right?” he asked her with his hands on his hips. Paulie had flashbacks to when her mum used to lecture her like that.
“I know but… I’ll do them later, yeah?” she asked and slowly rose from her spot on the couch. She stood up and came to stand in front of Harry, her hands reaching for his that were still on his hips.
“Later? Why not now?” Harry smirked. He knew what she was trying to do and it was fun watching her try to weasel her way out of it.
“Because now… I’d prefer to do something else,” she purred. “I was thinking that instead of me doing the dishes… you could do me?” she giggled her way through the sentence and she was so bloody adorable that Harry almost gave in.
Almost.
“You’d prefer that, hm?” he asked and played along for a bit.
He let his hands trail up her arms and then tucked her hair behind her ears before he pressed a soft kiss to her lips.
“Hm,” Paulie confirmed, her eyes closed.
“Too bad,” Harry whispered and Paulie’s eyes shot open. “You didn’t do the dishes. I’m not doing you.”
He patted her arms twice and then went over to her bed. On his way there he took of his t-shirt and started unbuttoning his jeans.
“I’ll be right here, watching you clean up this mess and then, if everything is squeaky clean, I’ll be more than happy to… do you.”
Paulie snarled at him. She huffed and grumbled under her breath but she got to work on those damn dishes because Harry in only his boxers on her bed a few feet away was all the incentive she needed.
