“Your son,” I said. He sat facing me. “Yeah.” “So, why?” “You mean, why tell you about it, instead of setting you up like they wanted?” “Yeah.” “Are you sure me being here isn’t part of the setup?” “Yeah.” “You’re right, it isn’t.” “Then why—” “Because I know you, Vlad. People who cross you tend to get dead, and people who depend on you pull through. Usually. I don’t know if it’s luck, skill, or a combination. But whatever it is, I’ve seen how it works too many times. I’m betting on you against the whole Left Hand. Or at least a faction of it.”

Dear Mr. Brust,
I pre-ordered your most recent work and was pleased to see it arrive. I began to read it during a short break from work and, five pages in, was posed with an interesting right of publicity/public figure question. If you're going to make me think about work, I'll just read the other anticipates book which arrived today, which is specifically about fantasy lawyers.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Xxxxxx Yyyyyy

My Everhood OC, Fluffy Mage.
It's rumoured that either a terrible calamity or their body's degradation over eternity left Fluffy Mage in this form. This is incorrect. This is their preferred shape.
Mage powers: telekinesis, talking comprehensibly despite having a fluffy muzzle, suspected to be able to teleport, common sense, cowardice, being very elusive to the point that people think they were killed on one of those long-ago occasions, ability to digest lactose, puns.
Fluffy Mage does have a wizarding hat, rarely seen. It's a cone and they put it over their horn "to keep it warm". Nobody is sure whether this is a joke.
