It’s yet another challenge to my ‘gaga’ world and loves this is something that will intrigue all of you. I recently did an amazing shoot with the amazing (photos_by_andie)and my inspiration was derived from the Iconic and sensational Aaliyah. For those who do not know Aaliyah, she was the princess of RNB in the 90s and sadly she died in 2001 in a plane crash. All that aside, I did one of her iconic look, the barrette, which was a common style in the 90s and it was evident that Aaliyah rocked the look.
So I paired my barrette look with an amazing red top that has (I call them flowing arms) and a black trouser that is a bit high wasted. It’s a clear indication that I followed Bill Blass’ iconic fashion quote When in doubt, wear red. The black heels made a statement that it’s ok to look vintage in the modern world. This look can also be paired with ankle boots if possible. I guess what you are wondering is when can someone rock this look? Well don’t worry I got you covered. This look can be rocked at an evening party with your friends or a brunch. It’s simple and easily affordable at any street. No need for high end designer stores.
Make sure your clothes make a statement and you can also mix bold colors with dull colors and make sure you accessories are minimal. It’s even better when your clothes make a statement that you don’t need to accessorize because you will look too extra for the brunch.
