Things are better now, for anyone interested.

It’s really beginning to feel like Subtil/the Scholar just merged with us, dividing evenly his thought among us. We catch ourselves thinking like him a little bit sometimes, but... Even if I tried really hard, I wouldn’t be able to have him front. That, or he’s done something to push himself away. That’s equally possible.

The only question left is: Where is this raw emotion coming from? It feels like something that’s very not-us has been around. That, or it’s coming from the fact that we have to reorganise roles and we’re uncomfortable, and that’s making us more irritable. Either way, we good now.
