a little bit of privacy.
with dave ( @runawayfairie )
alright, so maybe he's abusing his roommate privileges - and maybe this isn't even the first time he's done this sort of thing, putting a sock on the door just to get some alone time in the apartment. is that such a crime?
back in texas, before dave got his full ride scholarship to a nice, quiet school on the east coast where people are wayyy, way cooler about his whole limp wrist shebang - or should he say hebang? y'know, cuz... well, you get it - he never got much solitude. with his no-boundaries older brother acting as the guardian and supervisor of the house, dave's been barged in on enough times to totally traumatize him as a teen and make him a very guarded young adult. his privacy is everything.
so yes, that means sometimes, sometimes he puts a sock on the door in an effort to keep his roommate out just so he can squeeze in a few more hours of not sharing his space with anyone... and so he can work on really important projects completely uninterrupted.
like building this tower of spaghetti-o's, for example. some bozo on reddit challenged anyone and everyone to make a bigger and better stack than him - the clown's username had something to do with cats in cars, just something really stupid, and it made dave immediately rise to the challenge out of spite. seventy cans of spaghetti-o's delivered to his place thanks to amazon later, and here he is, erecting an aztec fortress of a structure in the center of the living room.
moments ago, he'd accidentally hip-checked the edge of it, sending some of the cans sprawling - and one even burst from the impact. he let out a pretty raw moan over it, even indulging in a few, "fuck, dude, fuck!"s over it. he was now dutifully mopping up tomato sauce from the wooden flooring, huffing about it pretty loudly.
if someone had come to the door in that moment, well, he'd be none the wiser - he'd definitely not have heard it over all the clattering and whining he was doing about having to clean up his mess.
