Description: Landon invites Khai to the pumpkin patch with him and Elle and they have a fun day together
Trigger Warnings: -
Khai.
Khai had been doing everything in his power to keep himself busy since the last time he had seen Landon. He had deleted his friends number from his phone, merely to force himself from texting him. But it had only been two days before Landon was texting him instead. He wasn’t really sure what to make of the reach out, but Khai really did miss Elle. So when Landon offered him to tag along to the pumpkin patch with him and his daughter, Khai was quick to accept. Of course he missed Landon as well, but he wasn’t going to be the one to give in this time. If Landon wanted more, than Landon would have to be the one to make that move. Khai pulled up to the pumpkin patch and he got out of his car. His eyes scanning the crowds for the pair before he finally spotted them. “Elle” he called out to grab her attention. A wide smile spreading across his features as she noticed him and ran straight into his arms. “I’ve missed you, baby girl” he said softly as he picked her up and hugged her. Placing her back onto the ground as he looked over to Landon. “Hey” he greeted, trying not to make direct eye contact as he spoke to the other male. “Thanks for inviting me.”
LANDON
Landon hated the fact that they were in this situation, especially since he knew that at this point it was mostly his doing. It’s not like he was still upset about the thing with Dorian but the fear was still there and he didn’t think that was going to disappear any time soon. He was surprised that Khai didn’t text him at all after the last time they saw each other but he figured the other needed some time just as much as Landon did. He made sure to get there a little early to find close parking and got out of the car together with Elle. It didn’t take long for Khai to get here, and he watched with a small smile as his daughter ran to the other with a scream. Landon walked over as well to greet him. “Hey yourself...you’re welcome, it was your idea after all.” It hurt that Khai wouldn’t even look him in the eyes but it’s not like he could blame him. “Shall we?”
Khai.
Khai nodded his head when Landon mentioned it was his idea, and he let out a soft “Mhm.” It wasn’t that he was trying to be stand offish on purpose, but actually, yes he was. He grabbed Elle’s hand as she hung onto him and he walked toward the entrance with the pair at his sides. “This place is pretty packed today, huh?” he asked with a bit if surprise. He figured being Sunday, it wouldn’t be so bad. But he should have known since the place had only recently opened. “You gonna pick out the biggest pumpkin you can find?” he asked, looking down at Elle with another smile. “You gotta make sure to find one even daddy can’t pick up” he mused. Keeping a firm grip on the girls hand as she kept trying to run ahead with excitement. “Should we get some hot chocolate or a coffee first?” he asked turned to Landon briefly before giving a shrug. “I have a feeling we’re gonna be here a while.”
LANDON
Landon wasn’t sure how they were going to get through the whole day if this is what it’s going to be like. It looked like Khai was doing everything possible to ignore him and it left him feeling unsure of where he stood with him. Seeing the interaction between between Khai and his daughter warmed his heart but he was getting a little worried about Elle realising something was going on. She was very perceptive and could always tell straight away if Landon was acting strangely. How would he explain to Elle that him and Khai hooked up and now it was weird? That wasn’t the sort of conversation he wanted to have with his daughter. “Sure, we can get coffee”, he agreed. “I’m sure Elle would love a hot chocolate as well, wouldn’t you sweetheart?”
Khai.
Khai could tell Landon felt a bit weird about their interactions, but he just brushed it off. Why would he really care how much attention be paid to him anyway? He gave Landon a soft smile before nodding his head and walking toward the concession stand with him and Elle. His eyes gazing over the menu as he picked up Elle to help her see a bit better. “I think I’m gonna go with the usual pumpkin spice cappuccino” he said aloud. His attention turning to Elle as she pointed at the candy apples. “You gonna get the Americano?” he asked Landon. But didn’t even bother to look in his direction. “You have to ask Daddy for that one” he chuckled softly as Elle pointed to the candy apples once again. Finally turning to Landon as he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. “So daddy... candy apples?” he asked. Raising his brow slightly as if he were a child himself trying to coax his parents into a sweet treat.
LANDON
Finally, he was looking at him! Landon didn’t even care that it was only for the candy apples at this point and he found himself nodding. “Fine but Elle you’re only getting one”, he said, ignoring her pout. “You know you get a tummy ache any time you have too much sugar.” If that’s the way Khai wanted to be then two could play at this game. “And I’ll have an Americano. Elle will have the hot chocolate but go for the small cup please.” It was hard to ignore the other when he was literally holding his daughter but he could try.
Khai.
“Daddy said only one” he faux pouted along with his friends daughter. Ordering their drinks and the candy apple for Elle as they made their way to the front of the line. He paid for everything and then placed Elle back on to the ground before passing out their orders. “So, you gotta carving plan for these pumpkins?” he asked Landon before bringing his cup to his lips for a sip. His eyes shifting between Elle slurping on her hot chocolate and his friend who was clearly getting annoyed with his behavior. He hoped maybe Landon would understand how this was hard for him, but it seemed to only be making the situation worse. So, he figured he’d give in a bit. His hand reaching out to fix the collar on Landons shirt before offering him another soft smile. His eyes clearly still radiating the adoration he had for the other male as he looked at him.
LANDON
Landon could have complained about Khai paying for their food again but he knew it would be useless. Better to just make it up to him later on. Elle seemed to be in seventh heaven munching on her candy apple and taking small sips of hot chocolate. Landon almost sighed in relief when Khai tried to make conversation. It wasn’t much but anything was better than silence and avoidance. “Not really, I’m more the wing it sort of guy”, he laughed, even though he was being serious. His laugh cut off when the other reached out to him, fixing the collar of his shirt and directing a look at him that made him smile. That was the Khai he knew and loved. Liked. Whatever.
Khai.
Khai couldn’t help but laugh when Landon admitted he was just gonna wing it. He definitely was more of a let’s just wing it kinda guy, and truthfully Khai found that endearing. “Yeah, I figured” he shook his head. His smile still evident on his face as he cleared his throat of any laughter. “I could help if you want. I’ve always been a pretty good pumpkin carver” he admitted. His eyes shifting back to Elle as he felt Landons eyes on him. It was so hard for Khai to go back to just being friends. But it was clear he was trying harder than he ever had before. Taking another sip of his cappuccino he looked back at Landon and raised his brow. He wasn’t really sure what to say next but now that he was looking at Landon he found himself practically starting. “Uh... should we do a hayride?” he asked. Trying to play his starting off as contemplation before sipping his drink again.
LANDON
“So is pumpkin carving one of your hidden talents?” he teased, laughing. Halloween wasn’t that big of a thing in London and pumpkin carving was only something that people started getting into more lately in the UK. The only reason he even started doing it himself was because of Elle. All her friends were doing so it was only a matter of time until she showed interest. Landon caught the other staring and bit back a pleased smile, not giving any impressions that he noticed. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Khai in confusion at what he said next to cover himself. “What the f- what’s a hayride?” Almost six years of fatherhood never got him out of swearing like a sailor but at least he was good at catching himself before making too much damage now.
Khai.
“Maybe” he grinned. It wasn’t like he really did it all too often. But he did have an artistic talent, so how hard could it be? He couldn’t help but laugh at Landon again when he almost cussed. Pointing at the hayride behind his friend that was carrying groups of people through the pumpkin patch. “That’s a hayride, babe” he chuckled. Landon was so damn cute when he wanted to be and it instinctively cause Khai to drape his arm over his friends shoulder. “Come on, it’ll be fun” he said batting his eye lashes. “Besides, Elle and I already voted and you lost” he grinned. Smiling over at the small girl as she giggled. So much for that hard exterior he wanted so badly to keep up. Maybe he could just find another way to torture his friend, seeing how it was much to hard to just ignore him. Maybe he would just have to start teasing him instead.
LANDON
Maybe Elle would have a decently carved pumpkin for once. His usually looked like the common creepy smile ones, although there were a few years when he felt she was too young for that and tried to make them look friendly as well. Making a pumpkin look friendly...that’s something he never thought he would be doing in his life before having a daughter. Landon looked over to where Khai was pointing and grinned. That definitely looked fun and like something Elle would enjoy doing. The wide smile on her face only confirmed this. He let himself be lead, all the while thinking about that the hell he was doing. One second he was sure that he was ready to move on and that nothing could happen between them and the next it was like doing a complete 360.
Khai.
The last time Khai had even attempted to carve a pumpkin was over three years ago. Although, Halloween was in fact his favorite holiday, he never really did much for the occasion besides dress up and get drunk. This year would be so different though. He had so many things going on at the moment he didn’t even know where he would be come Halloween. If he could carve a fancy pumpkin for Elle though, he definitely would. He thought the world of that little girl, and even though things with her daddy were extremely complicated right now. He would drop everything to make sure there was a smile on her face. He kept his arm draped over Landon’s shoulder as he let him toward the line for the hayride. Elle clinging onto his friends hand as she continued to munch at the candy apple in her hand. He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself because he knew Landon would be sticking to everything he touched from now on, due to how sticky her hands looked. “So, did you get your costume ideas figured out?” he asked. Already knowing Landon was probably still in a loosing battle with his daughter. “I still think you’d look cute in tights” he grinned. Pulling his arm from Landons shoulder and sipping at his cappuccino again before licking his lips clean of any foam. There was no doubt in the way Khai was looking at the other male that he ever had any intention of moving on. But he was trying regardless. At least to the extent of keeping things in the friendzone for Elle’s sake.
LANDON
Landon directed a glare Khai’s way, knowing exactly why he was laughing. His hands felt disgusting and sticky from the caramel on the candy apple but he was used to it. It was part of parenthood and he wouldn’t dream of taking his hand away just because of that. He watched as Elle perked up at the mention of costumes and described in detail how she was going to match Destiny. “Yeah, I think you can tell it’s not going well”, he joked, laughing. “I’m fighting a losing battle but there’s still time for Halloween so I’m not giving up yet. Tights are definitely not an option though.” He could probably be convinced if Elle begged enough but the plan was to keep that from happening.
Khai.
Khai chewed his bottom lip and slightly squinted one of his eyes as he listened closely to what Elle was describing. His eyes shifting attention from the small girl to meet Landon’s baby blues. “Yeah, I see that” he grinned again. He could hear the determination in Landons voice, but he already knew deep down Landon wasn’t winning this one. “Well, if it makes you feel any better. I could always just dress to match you. Then maybe you won’t feel too awkward walking around as a three balled snowman. We could always save the tights for another occasion” he teased. His brow lifting slightly as he waited for Landons remark. It seemed like the line was moving rather quickly now and it was finally their turn to get onto the ride. He lifted Elle up onto the wagon and then helped Landon up as well, sticky hands and all. Before wiping his hand onto his jeans and sitting comfortably beside his friend on the hay. The space between them close to none as their legs pressed together. “You know, I really am gonna help Elle find the biggest pumpkin there is. So big she might even be able to climb inside it” he mused. Smiling like an idiot as he watched Elle’s eyes light up at the sight of all the pumpkins.
LANDON
That was an offer he would definitely be considering although there was something that would bring him double the amusement and had him fighting back a laugh just thinking about it. “I’ll definitely convince Aaron to dress up as well. If I have to dress up like a talking snowman, then he’s going to have to dress up like a moose...or whatever animal Moose is”, he laughed. Landon gratefully accepted Khai’s help getting on the ride and tried not to think too much about how close they were sitting next to each other and how their thighs were pretty much touching.
Khai.
Of course he wasn’t too thrilled about the mention of bringing Aaron into the mix. But he laughed anyway, because Landon was so clueless when it came to Frozen. Not that actually being in the know about the movie was Khai’s proudest moment. “You mean a reindeer?” he asked with a chuckle. “I don’t know, babe. I think maybe you’d look cuter as a reindeer. Aaron could always just dress up as Sven, he’s already got the blonde hair to match” he shrugged. His hand landing on Landons leg as the wagon hit a few bumps and he was almost shook off balance.
LANDON
“That thing’s a reindeer? I could have sworn it was a moose”, he said, only half joking. He bit back a laugh when he saw the offended look that Elle was sending his way. There was no greater insult than not knowing everything about frozen for her. There weren’t many points in his life when Landon wished he was blonde but this was one of them. How could he not when it meant the difference between dressing u as a human or a reindeer? “We’ll see, I’m still hopeful frozen won’t be in the picture.” He gasped when the wagon hit a bump on the road and quickly held on to Elle before she could lose her balance too much. “Careful sweetheart.”
Khai.
"Ha, yeah. I mean, I assumed so, since they say reindeer in the song" he chuckled. He could see the look Elle was shooting her dad and he laughed even more. "Damn, daddy. You better get on board" he winked at his friend. Okay, so yeah, he was getting way too much of a kick out of calling Landon daddy. But, it wasn't like he didn't do it every time Elle was around anyone. This time it was just different, and the look on Khai's face was totally giving him away that he was enjoying it. When the hayride stopped, Khai helped both Landon and Elle down and he watched as Elle ran through the batch of pumpkins near by. "She's adorable" he smiled. Turning to Landon and taking his friends hand in his own. "Is it okay if I hold your hand?" he asked. Maybe reaching just a little bit to see how far he could take this outing.30 September 2020
LANDON
That...was a good point. It’s not like he never watched the movie before but he tended to let his mind wander while doing that so it wasn’t a surprise that he didn’t remember certain details. Like the fact that it was a reindeer not a moose. Good to know. “I’ll make sure to get a Frozen crash course or something”, he said, as a way of appeasing Elle. Yeah right. Coming here today was a good idea and seeing the way she was running through the batch of pumpkins with delight only convinced him of this. There was nothing he loved seeing more than his daughter happy and free. He wasn’t expecting Khai’s question and he bit his lip as he thought of an answer. “Yeah...that would be nice.”
Khai.
Khai laced his fingers through Landons and gave his hand a soft squeeze. His eyes following Elle as she ran through the maze of pumpkins with a genuine smile placed on his lips. He could feel his heart speed up just a bit with the feeling of his friends hand in his own. But he tried not to make a big deal about it. “You did really great with her” he said simply. Turning his head to flash his smile at Landon before moving a bit closer to him. “Maybe we could do a Frozen movie marathon on our next movie night. I’m sure Elle would give us mad props for that” he mused. His thumb gently rubbing the back of Landons hand as he chewed his bottom lip.
LANDON
Landon wasn’t sure what to feel at having Khai’s hand in his. On one hand it was a great feeling and the butterflies in his stomach were making a reappearance but on the other hand it brought jack the same old fear and insecurities. He didn’t want all his thoughts to ruin a good day though so he tried to push them away as best as he could and carry on. “I tried my best and I think she’s turned out pretty great”, he smiled watching her run and have fun. “You’re going to be her favourite person in the world for suggesting that although I don’t think I’m going to be agreeing with her.”
Khai.
To be honest, Khai didn’t really know what to feel either. He had a lot of love for Landon, and he cared about the other male deeply. But he also had a fear of being hurt. It wasn’t like he had the best track record himself, and although most of his issues were caused by himself. He was really trying to work on being a better person. Hell, he hadn’t even been around the people he was closest to in what seemed like weeks. “You did great” he repeated just for clarification. A soft chuckle following his words as he shook his head at his friend. “Really? I think that’s already the case. But, I’ll take a win where I can get it” he teased. Bumping his shoulder playfully against Landons before pulling his hand away when Elle turned around.
LANDON
Landon was grateful that Khai pulled his hand back without him having to say anything. He didn’t want to hurt the other but he also knew the five year old was way too curious for her own good. Elle would definitely have something to say if she saw the two of them holding hands and Landon wasn’t sure there was an easy way of explaining everything. “I don’t think you need another win with her but sure, let’s do that.”
Khai.
It wasn’t that Khai didn’t want Elle to know how he felt about her daddy. He was pretty sure she had a good idea anyway after their little weekend together. But, they had spent quite some time apart now, and he didn’t want to confuse her. Elle’s best interest always came before his own though. Which is why he never said anything about how he was feeling that day he came over for breakfast and then ended up in the hospital. He didn’t want to scare her, and although saying something might have made the situation better. Elle was his main concern. “I need all the wins with her. What are you taking about?” he asked raising his brow with a soft chuckle. Walking over to Elle and squatting down to her level as she told him that she picked her pumpkins. “Those are the most beautiful pumpkins in the whole patch. You have a great eye, baby girl” he smiled to her. Picking up one of the pumpkins and mocking that he was gonna throw it to Landon. “Catch” he mused. Laughing soon after as he shook his head. “Ha, I’m kidding. But can you grab that one” he asked. Smiling at Landon as Elle laughed at his playfulness.
LANDON
“Oh come on, it’s obvious to anyone with eyes that she has you wrapped around her little finger and that she really like you.” Not that it bothered him. It was nice to see the relationship that had developed between Khai and Elle, even though it still scared him sometimes. “Sure, leave me with the heaviest one asshole”, he said, obviously only joking and making sure his daughter didn’t hear the last part. He didn’t want to have an angry teacher on his hands for teaching us daughter ‘bad’ words.
Khai.
“Yeah, well at least I won someone’s heart” he grinned shooting Landon a look. Maybe his words were a little spiteful, but his tone was calm and accepting. He had reached a point within himself where he just figured it was what it was, and if nothing else, he could at least make light of it. It didn’t seem to hurt as much when he pretended like he didn’t care. “Hey...” he laughed, widening his eyes at the remark. “You better what your tone or I’ll make you carry both” he mused. Definitely checking out Landons ass as he bent over to pick up the pumpkin. “It’s not that heavy is it? I think your cheeks are flexing” he teased.
LANDON
Landon sighed, unsure about what to even say in reply to that. On one hand he felt like another conversation about them was needed but he also didn’t want to bring it up again for fear it would end up the same way. “Not here”, he whispered, sending a look Elle’s way. There was no need to involve her in their drama. “What I’m getting here is that you hate me and want me to break my back”, he laughed. Landon bent down to pick the pumpkin up and rolled his eyes when he caught Khai staring at his eyes. “You really are a menace babe.”
Khai.
Khai just nodded his head. He wasn’t trying to start anything, and the last thing he wanted was to make a scene in front of Elle. He was just being his typical little shit self, and he couldn’t help it. “Oh stop” he laughed shaking his head at Landon. “You love when I’m a menace. But if it’s really that heavy, I’ll get it” he suggested, raising his brow. His eyes falling to Landon’s ass one more time before walking over to him to switch him pumpkins.
LANDON
The pumpkin wasn’t even that heavy and Landon was just being his usual dramatic self but he still let Khai switch with him. It’s not like the other was lying after all, he did like when he acted like a menace because it challenged him. “So now that we’ve got the best pumpkins at this place thanks to Elle, what’s the next time? Are we going to be carving them?” Elle was almost jumping in excitement and it was a delight to see. “I’m ready to put my skills to the test.”
Khai.
Landons definitely could have handled this pumpkin, and once Khai had it in his arms he couldn’t help but chuckle. Was that just a ruse to get him closer or something? Hmm, maybe he’d never know, but he’d take it whatever it was. “Oh yeah, we definitely need to carve them. I think there’s actually a carving station over there somewhere” he nodded with his head. “That is if you can handle a knife” he teased. Placing the pumpkin in his hands up onto the hayride before helping Elle back up so that they could ride to the next area. “Need help?” he asked, holding his hand out for Landons.
LANDON
“I don’t think I’m going to be able to join you for carving, that small knife they use looks to be way too much for me”, he said, shaking his head. “I don’t want to injure myself, that would be disastrous.” Landon rolled his eyes at the offered hand but still took it and sat down next to Elle. Just as the ride took off again and his daughter was busy chatting away about everything she saw, Landon got Khai’s attention and smiled. “Thanks for today, it’s really fun.”
Khai.
Khai couldn’t help but laugh at Landon being dramatic. He knew he was being sarcastic, but he still found it cute and he found himself pulling his bottom lip between his teeth to bite back a smile. “Don’t worry, babe. I won’t let you hurt yourself” he said in a serious yet playful tone. His hand reaching out to caress Landons cheek after helping him up. He sat down on the other side of Elle and smiled widely as she started expressing how much fun she was having with the whole experience. His eyes shifting up to meet Landons as he reached behind the little girls back to trail his fingers over his friends. “You’re welcome. I had a lot of fun too” he replied. Giving him a little nod to let him know he meant it.
LANDON
As much fun as he was having with Elle right there with them, a part of him couldn’t help but wonder about what would happen if it was just the two of them. Khai was caressing his face and holding his hand which made him think things would be a lot different without his daughter there. Landon couldn’t quite decide whether that was for the best or not. It didn’t take them long to get to the pumpkin carving section and Landon got down, holding his hand out to Khai this time. “Ready to design some pumpkins?”
Khai.
Of course things would probably be a bit different if Elle wasn’t around. But, it wasn’t really like Khai to hold back regardless if she was or not. His feelings for Landon were deep and had been for quite some time. He only wished he could go back and change all the stupid choices he made. But that day he walked out of the diner, he made another choice. He just wanted to respect Landon, and if that meant he would have to carry this pain of wanting to be close to him for the rest of his life, than so be it. Once they reached the carving station, Khai took Landons hand and smiled. Oh how the tables had turned. There was a time he totally would have taken this gesture as an opportunity to pull the other close. But he just swallowed it back and let his heart run wild with his imagination. “I’m always ready” he grinned. Grabbing both of the pumpkins as he watched Landon help Elle down. “You don’t think she’s gonna want frozen characters on these do you?” he asked, slightly raising his brow.
LANDON
Landon wanted to focus on making sure Elle had the best day ever and that’s it. Although he knew that at some point he and Khai would have to talk some things through. He kept saying he only wanted to be friends at this point and Khai agreed to try but they were anything but. Just friends wouldn’t behave in the way they were behaving, that’s for sure. Landon was just as confused as he was months ago and it didn’t seem like it was about to get better. He looked down at their two chosen pumpkins and sighed. One of them was definitely going to end up with a Frozen related carving. “Let’s face it, we’re not going to be able to avoid it so I hope you know how to carve an Olaf or Elsa.”
Khai.
Elle was definitely always the main concern. Hell, he probably wouldn’t even be he right now if it wasn’t for her. Of course he wanted to see Landon too. But, he was really trying to put some space between them. At least until they were able to talk without Khai completely making a scene. It didn’t seem like that talk was gonna happen today though, and that was fine with him. He was having a good time, and the smile on Elle’s face warmed his heart. “Uhm... I mean. Maybe if i had a photo?” he chuckled with a slight shrug. He drew Olaf a few times before for Elle. But carving it into a pumpkin was a whole different story. “I’m sure we will figure it out” he assured. Walking with the pair into the station where they apparently had professional carvers on hand. Sure, they could have always taken the easy way out and let them handle it. But, Khai was determined to carve a damn Olaf into this pumpkin.
LANDON
If Landon was on his own, he would have definitely let the carving to the hands of the professionals so they could carve whatever Elle’s heart desires but Khai was there so maybe he wouldn’t have to. A picture of Olaf was easy to find with a quick internet search and it seemed Elle knew this as well as she was already beaming up at Khai and preparing herself to beg. “Please let’s carve Olaf Khai, please please please?” He wasn’t sure about Khai but Landon definitely wouldn’t have been able to say no to that face. “I guess we’re going to have to figure it out if we don’t want to end up with a very sad little girl on our hands.”
Khai.
The look on Elle’s face as she started to beg him was enough to persuade him into just about anything. He would literally do anything to make this little girl happy, and carving an Olaf into a pumpkin was easy enough, wasn’t it? His eyes shifted over to Landon and he gave him a short nod before turning his attention back to Elle. “Okay, baby girl. Let’s do it” he smiled widely at her. Finding an empty table for them to sit at so that he could butcher the hell out of this pumpkin. “Looks you get Elsa duty” he winked at Landon. Not blaming him one bit if he went to the professionals instead.
LANDON
Landon wondered if it was too late to switch and take Olaf instead. Because there was absolutely no way that he was going to manage to carve Elsa into the pumpkin. His best work of art consisted of stick figures so this was pretty much asking for the impossible. “Uh...you guys go ahead and do that while I go look for something over there”, he said, pointing to somewhere random behind him. This was a job for the professionals and what Elle didn’t know won’t hurt her.
Khai.
Khai shot Landon a look when he said he would be right back. His lips curving up into a playful grin as he nodded his head. “Okay, babe. We’ll be right here.” He turned to Elle to keep her attention as he started to cut off the top of the pumpkin. “You wanna help me gut this? We can throw all the seeds at daddy later” he teased. Winking over to Landon as he watched him get in to the line for the profession helpers. The least he could do was keep Elle busy so that he could keep up his image of daddy of the year.
LANDON
Landon could bear what Khai was saying perfectly well and he glared at his back for giving Elle any ideas. As much as he wanted to barge in and say they would be doing no such thing, he knew doing that would give him away so instead he seethed silently and swore to get back at Khai later in some way. There was quite a long for the professional carvers which filled Landon with relief. Clearly he wasn’t the only useless parent when it came to pumpkin carving. As soon as they were done, he went back to the others, smiling when he saw that Khai had made considerable progress on Olaf. “Look Elle, Daddy made Elsa. Just as you wanted!”
Khai.
It’s wasn’t very often at all that Khai got to spend some one on one time with Elle. So making her laugh and boosting her ego seemed like the perfect way to keep her entertained. He told her he was proud of her for her school work and picked on her a bit for her pigtails, all the while having no idea Landon could hear every word. It wasn’t until he came back that with the perfectly carved pumpkin that Khai put back on his tougher facade. “Ah, look at you. You’re such an artist”’he grinned. Putting the last finishing touches on Olaf before turning it around to show off his work. Which he was quite proud of to say the least. “What do you think? Did I do him justice?” he asked, hoping not only for Elle’s approval, but Landons as well.
LANDON
Landon smiled at seeing the interaction between Khai and Elle. She loved him to bits and, somehow, that was even more worrying than when the two didn’t even know each other. If anything happened between them and it went badly, Elle would be crushed over not seeing Khai again. Then again, he knew Khai wouldn’t disappear from their lives if that ever happened, just like he didn’t disappear after Landon said no the last time. He was still here carving pumpkins with them and that had to mean something. Landon looked over the Olaf carving and grinned. “That looks even better than the one the professiona-I mean, I did. It looks really cute!”
Khai.
There were a lot of things to potentially worry about when it came to Khai’s interactions with Elle. He never in a million years thought he would get this close to her. But he did, and now that he was, there was quite literally nothing that could keep him from her. Even deleting her dads number from his phone in hopes of not talking to him for a while had resulted in a day at the pumpkin patch the moment her name was mentioned. It wasn’t weird for a grown man to be friends with a child was it? He didn’t want to think about that too much. Because honestly, to him, they had become more than friends. They were family, connected at the heart. He only hoped that Landon would never take seeing her away from him. Because honestly, that would probably hurt more than him continuously telling him no. He smiled as Landon praised his pumpkin though, and for a moment, he almost forgot this wasn’t actually a date or family outing. “Aw, babe. Really?” he asked, his eyes softening for a moment as he looked between the two pumpkins. “That really means a lot” he replied as he stepped closer to Landon, “and you’re the one who looks really cute” he grinned. Placing both of his hands on the sides of Landons face and leaning in to peck his lips. Although, the peck did seem to last a little longer than he intended it to.
LANDON
Landon froze in shock when Khai leaned in and kissed him. On one hand he was enjoying himself a little too much for someone who said he just wanted to be friend but on the other he was at a complete loss over what it all meant. That’s when he remembered that Elle was right there and was seeing it all. How was he going to explain this to her? He pulled back and gave Khai’s hand a quick squeeze, almost his way of telling him they could talk about this later then he turned to Elle. “So how do you like your frozen carved pumpkins sweetheart?” he asked, trying to ignore the sneaky look on his daughter’s face. Or as sneaky as a five year old could look.
Khai.
When Landon pulled back it was clear in Khai’s face that he was just as shocked as he was. Sure, he wanted to kissed him, and he had no regrets in doing so. But, he had just acted on impulse and shit, Elle was right there. She had asked Khai before if he loved her daddy. But even back then when he said ‘Of course’ this kiss she just witnessed had the potential to be really confusing to her. He nodded his head just once as Landon squeezed his hand and turned back around to face the small girl. Who was seemingly beaming her sneakiest face at them. It was almost like she had been waiting for that to happen. But he didn’t say anything, he just let Landon deal with that. Because internally he was screaming and truthfully he was scared if he spoke, it would show.
LANDON
Landon knew Elle better than he even knew himself at this point. He raised her after all. And so he knew that she was very curious about what she had just seen and wanted to ask about it. He was hoping talks of pumpkins and frozen would be enough to distract her because he wasn’t sure what he would tell her if she asked. Landon didn’t know what he and Khai were, although he knew that he could no longer say they were just friends. They hadn’t been just friends for a while. But how was he supposed to explain the whole mess that was their relationship to a six year old? He couldn’t. It seemed like somehow she understood because she didn’t say anything and instead went along with his distraction plans, talking their ears off about Olaf, Elsa and the power of friendship.
Khai.
Thank God, Elle was having way too much fun with her pumpkins to question his actions. He knew he wouldn’t know what to say, so he could only imagine Landon felt the same way. He really needed to stop doing that. Acting on impulse only lead to trouble and confused little girls. “Hey, I’ll be right back” he said, sifting his hand through Elle’s messy hair before kissing the top of her head. “I’m just gonna go use the loo” he added. Walking toward the bathroom soon after to try and regain his composure. He was sure as shit his embarrassment was all over his face and he didn’t want to make the rest of this day weird.
LANDON
They both watched Khai as he left to use the bathroom although Landon was probably the only one to know why he was really walking off. He couldn’t blame him for feeling embarrassed, Landon kind of did as well for having lost his inhibitions for the moment and kissed someone in front of his daughter. But at the same time, he didn’t regret it. He just hoped it wouldn’t be awkward once Khai got back because their day had been going so well so far.
Khai.
He was only gone for a few moments, but when he came back, he had three new cups of hot chocolate. He thought it would a nice gesture since it was starting to get a little chilly out. “How’s it going over here?” he asked as he passed out the drinks. His eyes meeting Landons with a soft smile as Elle gushed over her pumpkins. “So.. should we do face painting? Or... the corn maze? Or, do you two just wanna get out of here and get these babies lit up?”
LANDON
Seeing Khai come back with three cups of hot chocolate after only a few minutes made a Landon wonder whether the other had even gone to the bathroom at all. He took his cup from Khai and watched as Elle did the same, making sure to remind her to blow on it and wait for it to cool down a little. She always got so dramatic whenever she burnt her tongue. “Thanks”, he said, before taking a sip of his drink. “I guess it would be pretty cool to see our work in action.”
Khai.
It was always cute to see Landon switch into daddy mode. Reminding Elle to be careful with her hot chocolate in the most caring way anyone ever could. It made Khai smile wider as he blew on his own drink. “Alright then, let’s do it” he nodded. Suddenly realizing that meant they would be going home, and him back to his own place. “I hope they look as cool lit up as they do now” he added. Taking a sip of his hot chocolate before placing it down to start cleaning up the mess they had made. The last thing he excepted though, was for Elle to grab two fist falls of pumpkin seeds and chuck them directly at Landon. His eyes widened as he pulled his bottom lip between his teeth. Trying to bite back a laugh, because he knew Landon knew this was his idea.
LANDON
Landon was just about to help Khai with the cleanup when he was hit with a much of pumpkin seeds that seemed to come out of nowhere. What the fuck. One look at Elle’s dirty hands confirmed that she was to blame for this attack, even though he knew it was Khai who got the idea in her head in the first place. He narrowed his eyes and looked at the both of them, before grabbing two fistfuls of seeds and throwing them at the other two. “Oh, it’s on”.
Khai.
Honestly, Khai was waiting for Landon to go all Daddy again on Elle. So when he was hit with a handful of seeds as well he was a little taken off guard. Shit, did he really just do that? He thought to himself. An almost way too embarrassing giggle passing through his lips as Elle squealed and reached for more seeds to throw at her dad. “Oh, it’s definitely on” he grinned. Grabbing a couple of fist fulls himself and tossing them at Landon and Elle. He wasn’t sure when this became a fight to the death. But watching Elle jump on Landons back in a fit of laughter and covered in pumpkin guts. He took the opportunity to walk right up to Landon and smash the seeds right into the top of his head. “Look how cute, Elle. He’s the pumpkin king” he chuckled. Rubbing his hands together to try and get them clean before booping Elle on the nose.
LANDON
Landon wasn’t sure what happened but all of a sudden it developed into a full out pumpkin war. At this rate, they were going to end up getting kicked out of the pumpkin patch place and asked to never return but Landon couldn’t bring himself to care. He was having too much fun and clearly so were the other two. He was laughing gleefully with Elle on his back when he felt pumpkin guts all over his head. “You didn’t”, he said, even though it was quite clear Khai did. “You’re going to pay for that.” He grabbed a fistful of seeds and pushed them right into the other’s face while he was distracted talking to Elle. “Ha! That’s what you get!”
Khai.
It was nice to be having fun like this again. The last time he and Landon did anything like this, was back at Coney Island, and that seemed like a lifetime ago now. But the laughter coming from his friend and his daughter was comforting. It made him feel like maybe things could be okay moving forward. Maybe he’d never be with Landon, but at least they could still have fun. That had to count for something right? He turned his head to look back at Landon and much to his surprise, a fistful of pumpkin seeds was pushed right into his face. His mouth dropped open in shock as he lifted his hand to wipe his face clean and he let out a string of laughter. “I can’t believe you just did that” he shook his head. Using his tongue to push some seeds out of his mouth. “Now you’re the one who’s gonna pay” he grinned. Laughing again as Elle grabbed some more seeds from her dads head to toss in his direction. “You’re both gonna get it” he warned playfully. Wrapping his arms around them both and swinging them around.
LANDON
Back when they had their day at Coney Island, it was just the two of them while now Elle was there with them as well. Landon couldn’t help but think it made it even better as he doubted Khai would have joined him today if Elle was not with him. The fact that his friend hadn’t even texted him since their conversation at the diner showed him that things were not going as well as they might have said they were. Or maybe that was just Landon thinking like that. He laughed when Khai wrapped his arms around them and he could tell his daughter was also having the time of her life. With Harry leaving again, he was grateful to see her giggling and smiling self again. She knew that she would be seeing her other father any time it was possible but it wasn’t the same as having him right there. “Ooh we’re so scared, aren’t we Elle?”
Khai.
It was true he probably wouldn’t be here today if Elle wasn’t as well. But it wasn’t like he didn’t want to spend time with Landon. He loved spending time with his friend, but things had just become so awkward, and truthfully he didn’t really know how to be around him anymore. It always seemed like one minute things were perfectly fine and the next Landon was shutting him out again. He just wanted things to go back to normal. But that didn’t seem like it was going to happen anytime soon. Not unless he truly gave up and moved on anyway. He loved this though, being here with the two of them having a good time. Seeing Elle’s smile always made him feel better, even when things weren’t as good as they seemed. Even Landons smile had him feeling some type of way. But he would just brush that off, because after spending days in a deep depression over the two of them. It didn’t seem smart to hang onto false hope anymore. “You should be scared. I can turn into a scary werewolf when provoked” he teased. The idea of his words seemingly sending Elle over the moon with laughter. He wasn’t sure if she even know what a werewolf was. But that giggle had him laughing and spinning them ever faster. Until the three of them were falling over into a pile of hay that was stacked near by.
LANDON
After his conversation with both Aaron and Roman, it was hard not to think about the two of them. Both his best friends said they thought he should give him a chance and he was under no impression that they agreed with his reaction to Khai and Dorian. Even though they never explicitly said so, he knew everyone thought he exaggerated. And maybe he did but no one else had gone through what he had in his lifetime and so no one could really comment. He adopted his sister’s baby at twenty two when others would have run the other way, got married right out of uni and divorced shortly after, broke up with the love of his life thinking he was doing the right thing, got into a car accident bad enough everyone thought he was lucky to be alive...it was a lot. He wasn’t even thirty yet and he’s been through things others a lot older than him had been through in their lives. Some days it was a lot to wrap his head around. He knew he was hurting Khai with his actions and decisions but the other wasn’t around while Landon’s life was falling to pieces and so he felt like he couldn’t really understand. He watched with a smile at Elle’s reaction and her joy then let out a scream he would later deny when they fell into a pile of hay. They had little pieces of hay all over their clothes and in their hair and Landon burst out laughing when he saw the other two. Although it was going to be a pain to wash Elle’s hair later.
Khai.
Khai knew Landon had been through a lot. He got bits and pieces of it back when they used to text after his break up with Ro and Jay. But, Landon was more so one of those guys who would much rather keep his turmoil to himself. That didn’t mean Khai hadn’t heard things though, and being through quite some pain himself. He understood more than Landon probably thought he did. Regardless of all of that though, Khai had fallen for Landon. Maybe it was the sarcastic remarks back and forth or the unrepentant flirting. But, but he was in deep. Landon knew things about him; things he hadn’t really told anyone else, and he was there for him when others seemingly turned their backs. Maybe that wasn’t love, but Khai had been convinced that it was. Especially after they finally hooked up with one another. It seemed like Landon was the only thing he was ever able to think about now. Painful as that was, he had come to a point with his friend where he would much rather walk away than force him into something unrequited. The scream that left Landon as they fell though, wow. If he didn’t love him before, he definitely did now. The laughter spilling out of him from how amused he was, it was almost embarrassing. “Oh my god, you didn’t” he managed to get out through his laughs. His hand moving to grab his stomach because he was laughing so hard it was starting to hurt. Elle’s giggles only fueling him to continue as threw some hay at both her and Landon. “You two look so silly” he grinned cheekily. His face also starting to hurt from how hard he was smiling. “You’re like a little scarecrow” he said to Elle as he reached out to adjust some of the pieces of hay in her hair. “A scarecrow princess” he corrected. “....and I guess that makes you the king” he grinned a bit devilishly at his friend.
"You know I really do have to get back to work," he murmered against the others lips. This month his and the other mans work schedule hadn't matched up for just over a month. Getting even a minute alone had been next to impossible. Which is why he had been so happy to have the other stop in on lunch break to eat with him. And was very unsurprised that it had led to the other on his lap, grinding against him as they kissed. "I have a paitent due in half an hour."

“Does this mean I can brag about how I’m buddies with the president of the United States?”Dorian teased the other as he got him somewhere more private for a drink, which he certainly didn’t mind; after all, it was his goal to get the president on his own, no matter what it takes. “Just kidding, no one would believe me, anyway. Not in the circle of people I move around with, anyway.”he mused, shrugging his shoulders. “Oh, and I like my scotch neat; I’d help myself but I don’t know where you keep the good stuff.”

Description: Landon and Khai meet up for lunch.
Trigger Warnings: feels
Khai.
It seemed like Khai had been going non stop all weekend and he really just needed a minute to slow down and relax. After getting drunk at the party, flying to London, and having a bit of a struggle with hard drugs. He felt like seeing Landons face was just what he needed to feel a sense of calmness. Sure things were still a bit weird between them, but Khai’s feelings hadn’t changed in the slightest. He loved being with Landon, and he always felt safe with him. Like he could really just let go and be himself, even with the slight awkwardness. They had agreed to meet up at dreamers diner and Khai was waiting in a booth toward the back of the establishment. He wasn’t really sure if Landon wanted anyone to see them together, so he thought this placement might be best. He just hoped that Landon would spot him there, and luckily the place wasn’t too packed. He chewed nervously on his bottom lip once he saw Landon walked through the door and stood up to greet him as he made his way over. “Hey, babe” he smiled. Pulling the other male in for a hug as he breathed in his sent and hummed softly.
LANDON
Things were still a little awkward between him and Khai but their conversation at the party helped them get some things out of the way. Did he still feel some kind of way for the other? Of course, feelings and emotions didn’t just disappear overnight but he still believed that he made the right choice. They both had too much baggage they needed to deal with before they could try anything between them. That didn’t mean he didn’t want Khai in his life and so was more than happy to meet up with him for lunch during his work break. When he got to Dreamer’s Diner, it took him a while to notice Khai all the way at the back but once he did, he made his way to him and happily hugged him back. “Hey love”, he smiled and took a seat when they broke away. “How did London treat you?”
Khai.
Baggage or no baggage, Khai strongly felt that Landon was the one for him. Did Dorian say all the right things? Yeah, of course he did. There was no doubt about that at all. But that still didn’t change the fact that Khai had been falling for Landon over and over for months now. The connection between them only growing stronger the minute Landon let down his walls and allowed him into his bed. It didn’t matter that Landon wanted space, or that he might not think they belonged together. The only think that matter to Khai was that he didn’t feel this way for anyone else. It was almost as if Landon had put some sort of love spell on him, and no matter what he did he couldn’t break it. Landon always put up quite the fight against him though, even making him wait months before letting anything push even slightly past friendship. It made Khai feel like this wasn’t just about sex, or forbidden desires. It was about something more, something he couldn’t quite seem to put into words, and God did he crave it. Just hugging Landon made his stomach do tiny flips while his heart pounded wildly out of control. It was almost way too obvious how the world would just stop spinning as Khai looked deep into the others eyes. But he tried to keep his composure. If Landon wanted to get over him and move on, he would just have to accept that. He didn’t want to push Landon any more. As badly as he wanted him, this all had to be on Landons terms from here on out, and if that meant he had to wait forever, than so be it. He sat back down across from the other male and he pushed his hair back from his face. “It was trying” he said honestly. “I kinda figured it would be though. Hanging out with a pretty well known band that likes to do hard drugs and drink themselves sober, it was a bit of a struggle.” He shrugged nonchalantly and licked his lips as he reached for his menu. “How did the rest of your weekend go? Did you and Elle do anything fun?”
LANDON
When Khaj told him about going to London to shoot a music video, Landon didn’t even think to ask about who he was going there with. Maybe he should have. Suddenly Khai’s text about hard drugs made a lot more sense and he sighed. “So I’m guessing you partook in some hard drugs?” He wasn’t judging but he was a little worried. “My weekend was pretty good. Kind of calm for once which is surprising. Although I did take Elle to the beach on Sunday so I guess that was exciting.”
Khai.
Khai was fidgeting with his menu. His thumb nail digging into the side of his other thumb on his left hand as his eyes gazed over the selections. He didn’t always feel comfortable talking about his struggles. But he knew this was a barrier he had to break down with Landon if he ever expected for them to move forward. The deep conversations had fallen silent between them somewhere along the line, and even though it wasn’t intentional, it did worry him that Landon would just end up seeing him in a negative light. “You know...” he started to reply. His eyes shifting up from his menu to connect with Landons once again as he let out a deep sigh and shook his head. “I really wanted to. It was so tempting, and they were literally everywhere... and God, it was so hard not to, but I didn’t.” He replied honestly. “I did smoke a lot of weed though. But that’s not really anything new for me” he scoffed. A small smile pulling at his lips as Landon described his weekend. “I bet that was nice. She really loves the beach doesn’t she?” There was always a sense of calming that came with talking about Elle, and a more genuine smile formed across his features.
LANDON
Somewhere along the way, they lost sight of what was truly important in their relationship. They spent a whole weekend together but barely talked about anything important. It was nice to have so much sex that Landon started hurting in places he forgot could hurt but he missed the conversations between them. Maybe this could be their chance to get back to that. He listened to what Khai had to say and could admit, at least to himself, that he was relieved Khai managed to stay away. “I’m really proud of you. You could have given in but you didn’t and that’s amazing Khai”, he smiled. “Oh yeah, Elle adores the beach. We’re not going as much as we did in summer because of school but I try to take her during the weekend before it gets too cold.”
Khai.
Sex definitely was Khai’s strongest love language, and he had to admit it himself, he had definitely taken full advantage of his weekend spent with Landon. He couldn’t help himself though. He wanted Landon to feel desire and to know exactly how much he adored him. But, he had completely lost sight of that bond they once had, and he missed it. He wasn’t sure when he became to scared to say the wrong thing with his friend. But it was nice to just talk about things again. “Thank you, babe. It wasn’t easy that’s for sure. But I just thought about all the things I’ve worked so hard to achieve... and Elle.” He didn’t really elaborate beyond that. But he had come to love Elle so much, and he knew he couldn’t bare the hurt in that little girls eyes if he had done something that stupid. “Yeah, it’s sad it’s getting colder already. Maybe we could take her apple picking, or to the pumpkin patch instead. I heard there’s supposed to be some sort of fall festival going on along the beach as well. I think she’d really enjoy that.” Sure he was talking as if they would be going on sporadic dates. But that was just his heart holding onto that little bit of hope he still had for them. “So... has she sprung her costume idea on you yet? I still think you’d look hot as Peter Pan in those super tight tights” he grinned.
LANDON
Knowing that his daughter influenced Khai to the point that he didn’t do hard drugs because of her warmed his heart. Elle meant everything to him and it never failed to surprise him when he realized others felt the same way for his daughter. It was a nice surprise. Landon was so focused on the start of school and all the challenges that would bring that he didn’t think much about activities they could do once it got colder, especially now that Elle was getting older. “I think she would absolutely love going to the pumpkin patch. We’ve been in previous years but she was younger and I don’t think she really got the point of it but she’s so excited for Halloween this year.” Talk of the Halloween costume made him groan as he knew it was very possible he was going to get stuck in a costume that made him look like a complete idiot. “No way, that’s out of the question. She’s obsessed with frozen like every child her age but she’s also really getting into marvel lately...I’m hoping I can convince her to do something Avengers related.” Landon wasn’t sure if that was a possibility or just wishful thinking but he was at least going to try.
Khai.
It had surprised Khai as well how close he had gotten with Elle. He didn’t really get to spend a lot of time with her, but every time he did, they connected as if he had know her his entire life. He loved kids, and even though he sometimes got annoyed with the loud obnoxiousness. Elle really did make him want to be a better person, much like her daddy did. “Oh yeah, I definitely think she would love it. Getting to run around and pick out her own pumpkin, and then getting to take it home and carve it with you. I’m sure she’ll be over the moon” he smiled. “Plus, the warm apple cider and hay rides. It’s perfect.” His entire face lit as he smiled and he let out a soft chuckle at Landons disapproval. “Aww, but daddy” he fake pouted, just to tease the other male. He couldn’t really blame him for not wanting to look ridiculous. But Khai was thoroughly convinced Landon would look good in just about anything. “Hey you never know. Maybe she will go for it. What little girl doesn’t dream of being the black widow? I mean, come on. How epic would that be?” He smiled up at the waitress as she approached their booth and asked for their drink order. Inevitably ordering a pumpkin spice latte because all this talk of fall and pumpkin patches had him feeling nostalgic.
LANDON
That sounded like the perfect day for Elle and he couldn’t wait to tell her what they had planned. She would be ecstatic, that was for sure. Maybe he could even ask Aaron if he wanted them to take Des as well. He was sure the little girl would enjoy it just as much as his daughter. “I think so too and she dressed up as Elsa last year so I’m trying to go with the reasoning that it wouldn’t make sense to dress up as something from the same movie twice in a row. I’m not sure she’s very convinced but we’ll see. In the end she’ll probably want to dress up as whatever Des will choose so I think I’m wasting my time”, he sighed. Landon ordered himself an Americano and looked at Khai with raised eyebrows. “You’re really trying time embody autumn today aren’t you?”
Khai.
“I mean, there’s always the logic that there is in fact two movies now. But, I’m totally on your side” he grinned. Of course every little girl would rather be Ana or Elsa from frozen over an iconic super chick. But, maybe if Khai helped persuade her Landon would have a better chance. “Yeah, those two are definitely connected at the hip, aren’t they?” he asked with a soft smile. He couldn’t even remember having a best friend like that while growing up, so it was nice to see that she did. He watched as Landon ordered his drink and than chuckled softly at being called out on his choice. “Yeah, I guess you could say that” he shrugged. “Sometimes you just gotta give the heart what it wants.” The words didn’t really have a deeper meaning other than the topic at hand. But his eyes shot he to look into Landons as he realized maybe his choice of words could have been better.
LANDON
“Okay, you might have a point but you’re not telling Elle that because it would completely ruin my argument”, he laughed. He needed to have a little talk with Aaron and Alison at some point to figure out what Des was dressing up as. That way he could better prepare himself for what was to come. “They really are. Aaron and I like to joke that they’re going to end up dating in the future. In the very far future.” Landon noticed the look Khai directed at him and coughed, trying to diffuse the awkwardness that fell onto them once again. He wasn’t stupid and knew that Khai didn’t agree with what he said about them and Landon feared that was always something that was going to come between them and keep them from going back to their easy camaraderie.
Khai.
“Oh no, definitely not. But I don’t really think she needs my reminding anyway” he laughed along with his friend. He knew deep down no matter what either of them said would really affect her decision though. Whatever Des chose, Elle would inevitably choose as well. “Ah, yeah. I mean, it’s a total possibly. Friends date all the time.” God, he really just need to shut his mouth at this point. He really wasn’t trying to make digs. But his words were the truth, and he was specifically talking about Elle at the moment. He only hoped that Landon would see that and not think he was trying to push again. “Sorry, I didn’t mean... I just meant, you know what I meant” he chuckled awkwardly. He lifted up his menu again and held it high enough to block his face. Jesus, would this ever stop? He closed his eyes and deeply sighed quiet. Hoping Landon wouldn’t catch on before he regained his composure. Why couldn’t he just move on already? It would make his life a whole lot easier if he would.
LANDON
Landon could tell that this time Khai really wasn’t trying to imply anything about them and was really only talking about Elle so he just laughed and agreed. He wouldn’t have had the same reaction if he thought Khai was pushing him and not accepting his feelings and decision. “I know, don’t worry about it.” Landon wasn’t sure what to do at this point. Did he speak out about it or just pretend he couldn’t tell and move on? In the end, he just opened his own menu and looked at all the food available to order. If Khai wasn’t going to bring it up then he wasn’t going to either.
Khai.
He looked over his menu for a moment as he breathed in another deep breath. He was glad that Landon knew he was initially talking about Elle. But now there was a huge pink elephant in the room, and Khai had somewhere along the line lost his ability to hide his feelings. He closed his menu and placed it back down onto the table and grabbed his latte that had arrived while they were both awkwardly sitting in silence. His eyes shifting up to look at Landon as he blew on the drink to cool it off. “You know, I’m really sorry about all this. It’s just not that easy for me to just let go.” Maybe he should just keep these thoughts and feelings to himself. But truth was, he couldn’t do it anymore. He wanted to respect Landon, and God he was trying so hard. But he felt how he felt and he couldn’t change that no matter how much Landon wanted him to.
“I guess I just don’t really understand what we’re doing. Yeah, we have baggage, and I did something really fucking stupid. But, my hearts been yours Landon. It’s still yours, and it’s okay if you don’t want it. I’m not trying to cause a scene or fight with you. I just want you to know that I really was trying to love you the best I could. I wanted forever with us, and I thought it could happen. Maybe I was delusional, I don’t know. But I really thought you wanted the same thing. I’m just, I’m really trying here. I don’t even know what I’m doing. But I know I’d rather be upset with you, than ever be without you. The two of us together was never gonna be easy. But it didn’t matter to me, because you, Landon. You’re the only person who I thought could really see me. I don’t know, I’m sorry I’m rambling. I’m just gonna shut up now. I just really wanted you to know this isn’t gonna go away. My feelings for you are real and I don’t know if I’m ever gonna be able to just pretend like they aren’t there. It hurts. This hurts. Us being like this, when I know it could be so much more.” He took a deep shaky breath in trying to hold back his tears. Because he really didn’t wanna make a scene. “Maybe I’m just the one who needs some time. It hurts like hell not to be with you... or Elle. But being this close to you and not being able to touch you. It’s torture, and I just... I can’t.” He cleared his throat and closed his eyes for a moment as he took a few deep breaths. “I’m sorry. I didn’t wanna do this” he said as he opened his glossed over eyes again. “Maybe I should just go.”
LANDON
Landon wasn’t sure what to say. He understood what Khai was saying, it was hard for him too to be around him while almost pretending like their weekend together didn’t happen. This was different than when they kissed. That was an instant which they both agreed wouldn’t happen again but this time...they hooked up and then spent a whole weekend together having sex and spending time with Elle when she wasn’t at a friend’s house. It was harder to ignore and get over. Landon wanted to tell him that he was ready to give him another chance, that they could try again but he knew he’d only be lying to himself. The truth was that he wasn’t ready. He wasn’t ready to believe that things with Dorian were truly over and he still believed that now that whatever was between them was over, Khai was going to go back to him. And if time is what he wanted than Landon could give that to him. He knew what it meant like to feel completely lost and confused and to need some time to think about things. “You know I have feelings for you too but I just...can’t. Not right now. I need to take some time for myself, think about whether this is what I really want and to figure some things out about the past. I thought maybe being friends and going back to what we were before could work but...clearly not. It’s okay if you need time, I understand.” Landon took a sip of his coffee and tried to direct a small smile Khai’s way. “Maybe we should both just go. Try this again some other time when we’ve both had some time to think about it.”
Khai.
It wasn’t like Khai didn’t understand exactly where Landon was coming from. But his words still hurt. He wanted Landon more than he had ever wanted anything, and it was so clear in his eyes that anyone in the diner could see it. “Landon, I just... I know I’m not a good person. I’ve done a lot of things that I’ll never be able to change or take back. But I need you to hear me. You hear me right?” It was then that the tears he had been holding decided to leak out of his eyes out of his control, and he wiped them away as if trying to hide them. Pressing his lips together and nodding his head instead of continuing his words. Because he knew if he did he would just lose all self control. He just gazed at Landon for a moment, really taking in his features and trying his hardest to smile back at him, but instead he just shrugged. “I don’t need to think about it, Landon. I know what I want, I have for a while now. But it’s okay if you don’t. I just need you to know I really do love you. That’s not just gonna go away, and I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” He shifted his weight a bit to one side as he pulled his wallet from his back pocket. Pulling out a 50 dollar bill and tossing it onto the table. “You should eat something. I don’t want you getting sick because I ruined your lunch break.” He stood up and pushed his wallet back into his pocket and moved a bit closer to Landon. His hand reaching out to rest against Landons cheek as he leaned down to kiss the top of his head. “Thank you. For coming” he said softly as he looked down at him. Pulling his hand from the others cheek as he headed toward the exit.
LANDON
Landon didn’t think Khai was a bad person. Sometimes he was sure that he was the problem here. Everyone had pretty much told him that he couldn’t blame him for going back to Dorian. Maybe it wasn’t even just about that. It was a combination of things that Landon had gone through in his life which led to this moment. And he tried to get over it so many times but he just couldn’t. He kept thinking of Harry asking for a divorce because he couldn’t take staying with someone who couldn’t remember him and Loren falling for Jace while telling him they could try again. He was messed up, Landon could admit that much. When he saw Khai putting the 50 dollar bill on the table he was going to stop him. There was no way Landon would be eating anything after their conversation and it was too much money for two drinks. By the time he figured out what was going on, it was too late. Khai was already leaving and Landon could have called out and stopped him but they clearly both needed a break from each other. So he just watched him go and hoped they could get to the a point where they could talk again like they used to sometime soon.
Khai.
It took everything in Khai not to stop and turn around. This was ripping his heart out, but it was something he needed to do. He might not actually ever be okay with Landon again. But at least the other male knew exactly how he felt and where he stood. This was his last and final attempt. He laid it all out there and it was clear to him now that he just wasn’t ever gonna be good enough. He swallowed hard as he placed his hand onto the door of the diner and pushed it open. Stepping out into the cool air as the wind stung against his teary eyes. God, why was he always so stupid? How could he have ever thought that Landon would actually be into him and give him a real chance? It was all just way too good to be true from the moment it started, and now he had to suffer through the consequences. It wasn’t like he hadn’t gone through a very similar situation with Roman only a few months ago. Waiting around hopelessly for something that would inevitably never happen. He didn’t want to do that again. It hurt way too much to wait around just to get his heart broken all over again, and he was just about pushed to his emotional breaking point. He walked through the parking lot and got into his car, wiping the tears from his eyes as he pulled his phone from his pocket. “Goodbye, Landon” he whispered to himself. Deleting his friends number from his contacts before tossing his phone into the passengers seat.
"What? No I'm fine. Really," Dorian gave a strained smile that the other man clearly saw through. "Okay it was a rough day I just... I don't want it to ruin our night. "
Suggested Connections: Boyfriend, Best Friend, One of his adopted brothers, ect
I've got two new muses that are ridiculously awake.
Dorian, child psychologist, versatile with a slight preference for topping. Probably wins the title for my most compassionate muse.
Kane, car sales man and single father. Versatile. Could probably charm anyone into or out of anything.
So like this for a starter from one of them? Reply or IM if you want a specific one or you'll get a random one (or maybe even a starter from both of them idk)
