Trying to entertain and keep track of four children at a carnival, even one who was technically old enough to take care of themselves, was a hassle. A fun one that she wouldn’t change for the world but a tiring one nonetheless. So the times when everyone agreed to sit and eat was a relief to Trudy. "Does Kennard have friends on the hockey team or something?” she asked Marcel, as the child fraternized at the bake sale to raise money for the team’s equipment.

As the pair were making casual conversation, the sort that springs up when you’re both waiting in the insanely long line at the coffee shop, Trudy paused as she had a brief moment of recognition. “Now, wait a minute... aren’t you on the news?”

“Thanks for coming for that consult with that bear, Caroline,” Trudy said, handing the other a coffee. “I definitely owe you on that one, because... I can’t remember the last time someone hired me fix up a bear.”

“Oooh, a personal trainer, huh? Well, how much do you charge? And is it results-guaranteed-or-your-money-back?”

Trudy had made a habit of waiting up for Marcel on the days when he’d come back after a work trip. It didn’t matter how late he returned or how early she had to get up in the morning, even if it was just to give him a kiss, she’d be up to welcome him home. Sometimes the kids would wait too, but on a night like tonight (practically the morning), she put the little ones to bed and the older ones conked out on their own. She was particularly excited as she had a little news she wanted to relay to her husband. Sitting in her chair, biding her time with a book recommended by a friend, Trudy perked up at the sound of the key turning in the lock. “Welcome back, baby.”

Trudy took a seat across from Trinity in the living room, unsure of whether to launch into her spiel or fraternize a bit first. So in classic Trudy fashion, she just launched into it. “So, did Marcellus tell you about Kennard wanting to play hockey?” she asked, the attitude in her voice revealing Trudy’s semi-opposing position on the matter even if Trinity hadn’t been forewarned.

"Lee! Hey!” Trudy was glad to have gotten closer to the newscaster and even gladder now run into him at his booth for the station. “So, what’s going on? Are you going to interview me or what?”
