Cain swallowed, yeah no he deserved it. She didn’t sound mad but he could feel it a bit. He know he would be. Hell he was a bit upset with himself. And here he’d been thinking how clever he was ditching those death eaters after him and not tying it back to her. But he was more of a fool than he realized.
He swallowed before scooting closer to her. “I can’t apologize enough Ana” he knew he couldn’t he’d be saying it every second and it’d change nothing. “I had to make sure that if anyone came after me they wouldn’t go to you so I had to make you fall for it too” which was so hard. Hardest thing he’s ever done. He’s had this escape plan ever since he chose to work for he ministry. After all it was only a matter of time before he was found out. But Ana….she was never apart of it.
Now, knowing what he did now….it’s something he’d live to regret for probably the rest of his life.
“No..-No Ana I came for you. I had people who owed me, I was always going to come back for you.” He licked his lips, “believe me, if I’d known…I’d have brought you with me.” Easier to say it now but he certainly wouldn’t have left her like that.
