he’s been around enough mongrels to not be bothered by someone’s general demeanor, but there’s something about this one that just... weirds him out. kraglin doesn’t judge, much, but still -- he watched her touch someone once and has decided not to get close enough to let it happen to him. which is why, when he finds himself standing far too close all of the sudden in their ship while quill is off talking about this or that, he takes a large step to the side, giving the woman a sideways glance.

if he looks a little lost, well that’s because he is. ship ran outta fuel at the worst damn time and this planet was the nearest and he doesn’t even know if there’s any entertainment here. how annoying. crew ain’t gonna be happy. (by crew, he means himself and the stragglers he’s picked up here and there, so... not much of a problem there but still. makes him feel better to make a problem where there could be one). “you don’ look like a dancer.”

Kraglin merely offers a shrug, arms crossed where he stands a few feet away, chewing a hole in his lip. “Jus’ a thought, felt like asking.” There were always hints dropped, little bits told here and there, but never the full story. You heard bits from the other clans, rumors, but Kraglin preferred the source. Stuff said was stuff he mostly had already gathered, but getting more probably wasn’t gonna happen.
Admittedly, it’s not the conversation he was hoping for, but then, Kraglin isn’t sure what would have happened if Yondu had suddenly spilled some heartfelt confession of bitterness and parental issues and childhood problems. None of the Ravagers talked about their past openly, nor were emotions a welcome thing aboard the ship. Sentiment? Pfft.
But then, if there’s any sentiment on board, it’s in the First Mate at that moment, the destruction of Ronan still fresh. Kree were instrumental in the ruination of his childhood too. “That was my planet we saved, y’know, but I been with the Ravagers longer than I was on Xandar. Gets me thinking, I guess.”
