Riley loved her job, she really did. She loved teaching kids and seeing them grow and mature. She loved being able to change the world by helping kids to be better and smarter people. Every day that she got to come into work was an absolute blessing and a reminder that she was living out her dream. But good god, she didn’t love how messy kindergartners were. When they had any kind of arts and crafts session, that fact was amplified by about a thousand. So that was why, when she heard the knock on the door, she had been half buried behind a shelf attempting to collect stray noodles from doing macaroni art earlier in the day.
“Come in!” She called, fumbling a little as she grabbed the rogue pasta and pulling herself back up to standing.
