Out Of Nowhere (#2) by Roan Parrish.
I did not see this coming. I expected to read about Leo or Will, but then all of a sudden there’s Colin!
But boi, did I enjoy this book. I really did. Parrish writes great characters with real, relatable flaws. And I just couldn’t put this one down.
Compared to the first book, I think this was a little heavier. Not in a bad way, just... sadder?
In book one I really hated Colin. He was annoying and mean and I couldn’t stand him.
Not far into book two my heart just sank because realization hit. Suddenly everything about Colin made sense and it was so, so sad.
But don’t get me wrong, Colin is a little piece of shit and I wasn’t sure if he could actually redeem himself.
When we met Rafe, I thought it was going to be a fairy tale kind of love, and it seemed to be for a while, which I think Parrish did on purpose. Then reality slammed back, and we were down on Sad Street once more.
I honestly really like Rafe and Colin’s relationship though. I thought it might be a little toxic at first — good for Colin, but not that great for Rafe — but you see in these books that communication really is key.
It was a sad, painful but great ride to read this book. Really.
