first and foremost, matt is already a soft person as it is, so i can definitely see him being the same as a boyfriend (if not more)
overall, i think he’d be a very attentive partner
matt would totally be the type to wait on his s/o hand-and-foot, wanting them to always be as comfortable as possible in any situation
seeing as matt gives off a very mellow vibe, i think it’s safe to assume that any relationship with him would be super chill and and worry-free
i mean, he’s definitely an anxious guy so i can see him attracting/seeking out someone who also experiences the daily stresses that he does, but the relationship itself is never a source of anxiety
now, with someone who is a lot like him in that sense, i can totally see a co-dependant dynamic happening (to an extent/not in an unhealthy way), because having a partner who actually understands what it’s like to struggle with your mental state is a comforting feeling
you would definitely lean on one another in situations of stress and be each other’s main source of support
as for someone who is the opposite of him in that sense, i can def see you being his source of support, and him opening up to you more than anyone else… almost like you were his safe space

like he isn’t the most spontaneous (having anxiety, he likes to know about plans ahead of time), but he’d definitely plan things for y’all to do together all the time and take you on fun dates that you never would’ve thought to do on your own
another thing that would come with dating him is being best friends with nick and chris
they’re all individual people with different personalities, of course, but the boys are so close that they tend to rub off on each other and form more of a unit at the end of the day
that being said, you’d definitely get along great with his brothers and i can totally see you being good friends with them, separate from your relationship with matt
additionally, you would totally be trevor’s honorary mom
the boys love their dog (especially matt) and i can soooo see you and him becoming ‘mom and dad’ to trev
like it becomes a running joke within your inner circle of friends and family, and everyone starts calling you guys by those names (which totally make matt blush every time they’re used)
another thing that would come with dating matt would be exposure on the internet, and seeing as matt is a seemingly reserved person, i think he’d definitely try to keep your relationship out of the spotlight for as long as he could
even when you two do end up going public, he never pushes you to be in photos or videos and is always making sure you’re comfortable in public places
literally the minute you start to feel uneasy (whether it be because of fans, or just the idea of being seen and watched in public), he’s grabbing his stuff and telling his brothers and your friends to follow as he leads you out the door
lastly, i think that matt would definitely be against PDA of any kind
like, the most he’ll ever do is kiss the back of your hand or wrap his arm around your shoulder
in private though? total softie for kissing and holding you
matt doesn’t strike me as the heated makeout type, but he could definitely spend hours kissing you
and god forbid he has to take his hands off you for even a second (whether it be to answer the phone, pick something up or even just to eat for christ’s sake), the boy is whining and leaning into you as best he can with his hands busy
