Man, i would have loved to see the jaffa’s face if these rolled out of the gate in stargate sg1 courtesy of the templin institute
Yeah. So the smell of cordite filled the turret; it was awesome. And that jet engine, the turbine engine of that tank, was whirring as we traveled down the range. And we had just hit two moving targets at a distance of a little more than a mile, and my gunner in the M1 tank sits right down on the front right beneath where the tank commander was, and he turned around with this big old smile and said, “Lieutenant, America is awesome.”

M1A1 Abrams
A real modern metal monster, the M1A2 Abrams! A massive tank weighing in at 72 tons, the Abrams is the US Armed Forces' mainline battle tank. Designed in the late 1970s as a response to modern Russian tanks, the Abrams was first introduced in 1980. Serving with distinction in the 1991 Gulf War, the M1 proved to be a formidable opponent, being able to out range, outgun, and out maneuver the aging Iraqi T-72 tanks. Combining a massive, fuel-guzzling Chrysler turbine engine along with highly classified armor capable of withstanding almost any projectile, the Abrams also incorporates the most advanced fire control systems and optics of any modern tank. A remote-operated .50 calibre heavy machine gun and a lighter M240 GPMG give the tank protection against infantry. Truly an American vehicle, the M1 Abrams is the armored spear of any assault.
