In Enemy Hands: Chapter 1
Afterall, this group is likely liable to kill you once they find out you have no memories and an unflinching hunger.
A short, bronze-skinned woman comes down into the prison first, her hair tied up behind her. Her face, while serious, is beautiful and taught, surveying the scene in front of her. She doesn’t like what she sees. She glances over the cage next to you, fearful of all the men in the cage, before she sees you and freezes.
Even with your large black cloak, there’s something in your eyes, your face, that she does not like.
“John!” She shouts. Her gun trained on you, the flashlight blinding you to her companions as they rush down the stairs to get a look at you. Soon, two more soldiers are there, weapons trained on you- one of them a pale man with dark hair and a steely-gaze. The other, a tall man with dreads and muscles that would easily choke the life from your malnourished form, with a malice in his eyes that almost dares you to give him the chance.
The pale soldier nods at the woman, “Teyla, take Rodney and check the others.”
Teyla, the woman, nods warily and a fourth man, another pale one with a round face and a jumpy look about him, brushes past the soldiers and to the other cell.
.
Assuming he was John, the first man steps forward and holds his gun alert, while his tall companion does the same. John asks, “Who are you?”
You have no idea. You hold your hands up in surrender. “I have no memories.”
“Bullshit.”
“Ronon.” John hisses at his companion, before he looks back at you. “How did you get here?”
“I don’t remember.” You say again. It’s the truth. You woke up on this planet, unable to tell where you are or when you got here. You don’t even know your own name. “Do I know you?”
“No.” John replied, although Ronon narrowed his eyes and held his gun up a little higher.
“Have I wronged you?”
John and Ronon both open their mouths to answer at the same time. John says “Not personally” but Ronon says “Yes.”
You narrow your eyes.
Teyla returns from the other cell. “The others are human. Rodney is hacking the cell now to release them.”
“Good.” John nods. “They’re just villagers, right?”
“As far as we can tell.”
Rodney pipes in, “It’s a domination complex of sorts. If you even make eye contact with the locals they’ll imprison you for ‘challenging their authority.’ Real primitive stuff.” He says quickly, not looking up from his tablet.
“So what about our friend here?”
This does make Rodney look up. “Uh. Well. I don’t know how he got here. Unless Michael was-,”
Teyla interrupted, “Do you think this was him?”
Rodney gave her an obvious look. “Well unless you think it was Carson.” .
Teyla and Rodney began to bicker about someone named Michael, and their voices make your head hurt. You don’t know anyone by those names- or…or maybe you do? It’s so hard to focus. The men in the cell next to yours are shouting and grasping through the bars, and John is now getting into the argument, trying to get Rodney to shut up, while Teyla is now talking to the prisoners and Ronon is staring at you with the intensity of predator licking their chops- waiting for their injured prey to bleed out.
Finally, the cell next to you whirrs and clicks open, the the men cheer and push open the cell door, some thanking the team and squirming their way out and up the stairs until they are free.
The scent of the bodies as they move past makes you nauseous. By the Queen, are you hungry…why…why is this hunger gnawing at you? Perhaps you should have eaten some of that bread, as stale as it was.
You feel like you’re about to pass out. You reach out a hand and place it on the wall to steady yourself, regaining your balance for just a moment, the voices of the team losing focus only for an instant before you hear Ronon’s voice ring out clear in your head.
“We should kill it.”
Your head snaps up too quickly as you see the entire team staring at you.
“What?” You say, suddenly your voice is ragged, and you can’t catch a breath.
Teyla looks alarmed. “He’s starving. Ronon we can’t. He’s not that thing anymore. He deserves…something.” Her words have sympathy in them, but you can hear the uncertainty. .
“What happens when we have to feed him?” Rodney asks.
John looks at Rodney. “Open the door.” Rodney exchanges a glance with the soldier who seems to be in command of the squad, but he does what he’s told, and even Ronon stays in check, just barely while the team waits for the techie to open the door.
The the door is open, John still has his gun aimed at you. He mumbles something to Ronon, and you only catch a few words. “We’ll…useful…not…then…kill…later.”
John then looks back at you. “On your knees.”
You do as your told. They might kill you…or they might use you for information…even if you have to lie. Time to get creative.
“What do you know about Michael?”
A. “I know where he is.” B. “He’s told me about you.” C. “I don’t know anything.”

Actually the funniest thing about the weird mildly-military culture of the SGC is it only took them like six months to develop stargate-based funerary practices. Carefully passing a flower wreath through the event horizon, presumably to just fall on the ground on the other side. Pall bearer procession starting offworld taking the casket through the gate, don’t worry about how many tight corners and elevators we’re gonna have to take afterward to get the thing up to ground level. Hi everyone, let’s all appropriate the most secure room in the most secure military installation in the world to give speeches about our dead friend. Yes, the speaker and podium will be directly in the vaporization zone if the gate activates.
