Just wanted to let you know I completely disagree with the last two anon posts, Neil is Neil because of all the shit that has happened to him. When I read a fic not including everything that happened to him in the books I get put off as I feel I’m reading about a complete different person and not my little baby fox! Everyone has their opinions so hey ho

Exactly. That isn't to say that I dislike AUs that explore the characterization of characters without canon events*. But at that point it's more like I'm reading an original piece of work rather than something trying to emulate the book series.

But yeah. OOC-ness isn't everyone's cup of tea.

*Kudos to writers who manage to parallel canon events to events that happen in an AU. The simplest example for what I mean is a wizard AU where Neil gets his injuries through his father and his henchmen casting harmful spells on him. Y'all are hecka creative.

Besties I need to know how you guys have been pronouncing Jean’s name this whole time?? Have you been pronouncing it the French way like ‘John’ or literally just Jean?? I’m English and I’ve been unintentionally doing an in-head French accent every time for his name but I feel like the Americans probably don’t do that so idk please let me know because I’m interested!
