Mountains to Main Street draws hundreds of triathletes
GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Sunday, the Upstate played host to a brand new triathlon.
More than 400 triathletes participated in the Mountains to Main Street Half Triathlon Sunday morning.
Triathletes got the scenic view of the Upstate as they took on a grueling course that started in Lake Keowee and ended at the Peace Center in downtown Greenville.
This is the first face of this length to come to the Upstate and event coordinators say this race will only get bigger and better each year.
“I think this is a growing area and certainly in the sport of triathlon it’s growing,” said Mary Toffolon, “and I tink it’s going to continue to bring attention to the Greenville area for the sporting community. I think it’s going to be great, I think this is just the start, and I think this event will grow over the years.”
