This is The Hares' third studio album, eponymously named and released in the spring of 1967. While not their most diverse work, it's favoured for its laid-back tracklist and earthy production, primarily overseen by Martin Meadows and Gerri Avery (credited as simply "Gerard" on the liner notes). Recording and mixing took place at Martin's home studio in Wiltshire, England, which is also where the photograph featured on the cover was taken.

It is worth noting that the album also features guest pedal steel guitarwork from Texan-Tico musician Toni Cielos, cousin of Eddie Gale and frontman of band Feedback. He and Martin would become close during the sessions, leading to a long list of subsequent musical partnerships between the two.

The End

I am sorry to say that the ‘McHanzo 4 Hearts’ project will be ending. The main reason is because we have all this stock left over even after lowering the price and the charity money is sitting in paypal and being slowly eaten up by store envy’s fee’s. Our plan is to donate the money that we have left to the charities we promised(with proof) and I will be taking the rest of the lanyards to a convention I am tabling at in August to sell them and donate that money to the charities as well.  If you still want a lanyard then you can contact me @keiortem on my personal tumblr as the store has been shut down to stop anymore store fee’s to happen. I’m sad to see this end but both me and @meowskei agree that it’s for the best. I will be posting proof of what we have in the charity fund and another when we donate the money as we had promised for 100% clarity. Feel free to continue following this Tumblr as it won’t be shut down until all of the lanyards are sold. -Kei

Lore dump under the cut!!

The Hares were formed c.1964 by Martin Meadows and Gerard Avery, who had met while Mart was on tour around England (Mart had been a solo folkie for a few years prior and put out several records already, under the name of Marty Meadows). A childhood friend of Mart's - one Matthias Fenwick - was quick to want a share of the fun, and essentially irritated Mart into letting him tag along for the band's first gig. Eduardo "Eddie" Gale had been reluctantly dragged along on his cousin Toni Cielos' tour around the UK with his rock band (I'll talk more abt Toni later!). After filling in on lead guitar during a show with Toni, he met Matthias and they hit it off instantly, eventually leading to Eddie joining The Hares as their lead guitarist.
