EMP Sniper Rifle by Gavriil Klimov. Seen some pictures of these floating around and finally took a closer look.
Looks like he used the Barrett M82 as a base. The external trigger assembly, single piece stock and stock handle and pistol grip are all basically the same as the Barrett. The magazine well on the M82 is angled, whereas this one is flat, though the size of the magazine is fairly similar. The bipod is taken directly from the Barrett with some light modification. Looks a little small for my taste.
The front end of the rifle looks to be completely original. Looks like an assemblage of plates and insulated shielding to protect the user from whatever generates the EMP. The big blocky thing in front of the magazine is probably a secondary electrical power source, similar to how Aaron Beck’s railgun designs employ a secondary chemical accelerant in addition to a self-propelled round.
The scope is one of my favorite parts of this design. Very polygonal, looks like it has a lot of stuff going on inside of it. I’d like to think it would have some kind of HUD and some calibration software to make long range targeting easier.
Color is really cool, I’m a big fan of the gunmetal/matte black combination. I’d like to see this weapon dirtied up a little, maybe with some bright colored orange or teal highlights and some military designation marks.
Check it out here. The full photo set is beautiful. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/kx4dK
