"It was not difficult" Koriand'r struggled with some human customs but throwing a ball at a wall of cans repeatedly hardly seemed worth Danielle's excitement. Sure the game was rigged but she was very strong and very good at projectiles. Good enough to win 11 times in a row and win Danielle her choice of large off brand stuffed toy.

Why she seemed so impressed was beyond her but Dani looked delighted and happy and it made Kori delighted and happy. "If the Danielle is so easily impressed our courtship will be easy and I will be of pleased feeling for making the Danielle happy" Roy told her that there was no better place to take a date than the fair.

She thought back to Roy's teachings in courting women. Right she should ask for something in return. So Kori held the large stuffed victory prize.

"Mayhaps the Danielle is so impressed she is persuaded ed to offer a reward." Demanding a kiss on the cheek in return for the prize seemed...fair right?

"The Red Hood demanded muscle. I am of the muscle being" Starfire answered explaining why she was standing like a bouncer right next to him.

"It's going to be fine, me and Pelegrine go way back. Just keep a look out for undesirables." he looked at his watch. She was late but half of the court district was currently a crater so maybe he was being gracious about her tardiness for a reason.

"The man in the Red Hood climbed the tower...and the Pelegrine followed" Starfire poked fun at their meeting place on the roof of a corporate building of all places.

"You watch way too many noirs princess" And with that the door to the roof opened and Starfire would fly off keeping an eye from the sky but giving them some privacy to talk.

She could hear every word but the illusion of privacy.

"Don't mind my friend she's just protective like that" More so when he was in Gotham.

"You look like shit" Her suit looked...like it had seen some action very recently.

She was all too happy to sit on the wall and watch the children walk around trick or treating, they had been walking themselves for ages as she took pictures of all the decorations, the jack-o-lanterns, the spooky lawn ornaments fully enamored by the holiday. She found all these Earthling rituals ever so charming, she adored them, she adored her new home and the humans with their unbroken spirit of hope celebrating all these things including things that frightened them.

"Should we have done the dressing up?" she asked him as two kids giggled looking at them. Koriand'r waved at the skeleton and the giant ketchup bottle. "I could have done the dressing up as a banana. The are the scariest of all the Teran fruit, do you do the agreeing?"

She then thought about it. "I want to do the changing of my official opinion. Dragon fruit is scariest. Still would have done the dressing up as a banana"

Kori winced when that last suture was finished even if Jason was the gentlest he could be it still hurt. "Do not the worrying.." she cupped his cheek with her too warm hands and made him look at her, that she was fine, a little bit scathed but her neck could handle being risked. "I didn't listen, should have listened and scouted first and you are correct" He said none of these things but it was what he taught her, be more strategic, employ guerilla tactics if facing a foe at a disadvantage.

"People like the Bane don't get the luxury of another day making innocents pray to skies that don't listen for help." Did she get her ass kicked? Yes. Did she buy Jason and the others time to evacuate the hostages? Also yes. "Next time I will be more prepared. Next time I don't offer chance of surrender and throw the Bane in the river"

That was her attempt of humor.

Impervious and superhumanly durable were worlds apart...

Didn't even matter that the news would paint her as just as bad for the structural damage her body caused getting mashed into.She didn't do it for the applause, she did it because it was the right thing to do

Hands would be warmer and she’d have to pray to X’hal that she didn’t end up hurting him or worse leave burn marks on his skin. He healed fast, she loved him so she’d brave to take the chance. Roy was a different animal to Jason, she braved him because the redhead had a fascination with being marked. 

Jason needed gentleness in her opinion. “Just tell me if you want me to stop” Inhumanely warm hands framed Jason’s face to kiss him on the left cheekbone right by his lower eyelid. Where he was punched even if his helmet took the brunt of it and the Pit curse handled any bruising fading much faster than she could kiss it better. 

“Stay with me...” No falling into doubting thoughts or wherever Jason went when he closed himself off. 

“Be slow-” she said as if he was doing anything other than sit on the edge of the sofa with Kori knelt between his legs kissing him. She kissed his nose, his lips, his cheeks, his chins, that spot on his throat where his Adam’s apple would bop when he swallowed. 

“Slow-” she demanded if he was to kiss her in return for it was the only way this would work.

The Batsignal had been lit and kicked so now askew, no matter how much Jason or Roy tried to hold her back she could easily free herself but chose not to. “It is Jason’s mercy and love that spares you” She visibly shook with anger, shook. She was so soft spoken, so kind that people tended to forget that kindness wasn’t her default state, she chose to be kind. She chose to be a pacifist. She once fought a war so long and so bloody that the land would never bare harvest again. “A month. A month of pain to recover.” Good thing that Roy and Jason caught wind of her and came to try and stop her maybe. “Watch your back you count me among your enemies as of now” Bruce and her had a nasty history already, he persuaded Dick to leave her and get back to Barbara for his sweetheart was a better choice than an alien. 

“Have you no crimes to fight-?” she barked to the commissioner as she flew off the roof and would wait by the stairs for Jason. Roy would tell him to calm her down but stay away for he wanted every bit as much as her to enact vengeance. 

“I could kick him to the moon you know. Kick him so hard in the genitials he’d fly to the moon.” Angry people tended to say things like that. 

“I meant my words, anyone that hurts you has to answer to me” she spoke to Jason but her anger was softening. 

“I want a milkshake”

Last Christmas

She didn’t need to turn and see who was approaching her the scent of Silk Cut had already given it away and sure enough there John was in a beautiful spot of Sweden near the observatory and the alien of course grabbed him in that signature hug that made his legs dangle, she really did hug her friends like a child hugged teddy bears.

It was not an easy task to calculate your birthday when your planet did not have the same elliptical rotation around it’s adjacent sun like the Earth. Somewhere between October and December was the truth and this year more December than October. Of course John could not join the actual birthday party a few days ago or rather did not want to. Or Robin didn’t invite him. Which ever the reason was Koriand’r had made sure to ask John to spend a few days with her now.

“I wanted to to do the showing of the sun. The Sun of the Tamaran planet not the Earth planet’s sun” Koriand’r explained the reason for the location and held the door to the observatory open for John. “We have one Earth hour before the very polite man has to do telescoping of space”

“I had of the most fun during the eve of Hallows with the John. The friends had the much jealousy feeling. And do the looking of this” she had a printed photograph of her and Cyborg and there her mug was being toasted.

“Tell me about the journeing to here. Was it of pleasant?” she asked while programing the telescope and adjusting it.

“I would do it again-” Starfire had broken the silence as Roy slept nursing his injuries, Jason barely slept she could tell. Maybe it was stress, he seemed to be healing well enough thanks to the Pit. It colored his eyes a touch greener she noticed. She too had been injured but it was worth it, Artemis deserved to see proof of loyalty and they’d never leave a team mate behind.

“You chose well. You always do- somehow.” she extended her hand to offer it to him, an invitation to join her sat on the floor of their lair’s balcony. “Pain passes, we know it well. Sit with me, I would welcome the company for a while.”

The fights got tougher, their enemies stronger. But she’d still follow Jason to Hell if that is where he was marching next. She cared about him greatly there was softness in her voice when she spoke to him, the way she worried about him.

“I never said thank you. For being my friend, for trusting me. For punching Luthor” she could not help but to chuckle because yeah that’s what you get for your anti-alien campaign. “My shoulder is dislocated- help me?” she asked and scrunched her face...this part of post mission was never pleasant.

Only when the nights were quiet would they speak with more candor.
