Clothsurgeon x Selfridges 2016 Collection and Shop Window
British-based menswear label Clothsurgeon has linked up with retailer Selfridges for a limited capsule collection and a shop window installation, to boot. The capsule includes bombers, hoodies, workwear trousers, as well as higher-end basics. Designer Rav Matharu built this collection around the idea of sustainability by upcycling deadstock Scottish wool tartan kilts and French indigo cotton for for Savile Row-style button-downs and waxed MA-1 jackets — all recreated to fit within Clothsurgeon’s singular aesthetic sensibilities. The shop window literalizes the brand name, putting a patchwork bomber built of repurposed waxed hunting jackets at center stage in a strikingly lit surgery room, complete with information on the brand for pedestrians to read.
