Clothsurgeon x Selfridges 2016 Collection and Shop Window
British-based menswear label Clothsurgeon has linked up with retailer Selfridges for a limited capsule collection and a shop window installation, to boot. The capsule includes bombers, hoodies, workwear trousers, as well as higher-end basics. Designer Rav Matharu built this collection around the idea of sustainability by upcycling deadstock Scottish wool tartan kilts and French indigo cotton for for Savile Row-style button-downs and waxed MA-1 jackets — all recreated to fit within Clothsurgeon’s singular aesthetic sensibilities. The shop window literalizes the brand name, putting a patchwork bomber built of repurposed waxed hunting jackets at center stage in a strikingly lit surgery room, complete with information on the brand for pedestrians to read.

Rav Matharu, Clothsurgeon has dropped a new line of men's sweaters , the one posted above is my favorite . Standouts include crewneck sweaters in unexpected materials like tweed wool and leather, linen sweats, elongated tees and goat suede basketball shorts, all of which are luxurious, street-ready takes on classic sports staples. I love how he used the flannel pattern , and the fact that its a premium fabric tee .
I defiantly plan on ordering a few pieces soon . Look for a selection from Clothsurgeon’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection now at the HYPEBEAST Store.
