Took me a while to figure out what to do with this. I planned on soft but… I guess you’re getting Leigh being an idiot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It’s hard to sit still, pretend that everything is fine. You keep reminding yourself there’s no one to pretend for, not right now, but it doesn’t sink in, what with you being in Ortega’s apartment.
He was called away as you were having dinner, some new villain, Cerberus you think he said, was running amok downtown. “Don’t worry,” he’d said, “Put some leftovers aside for me?” he’d said.
Night has fallen since, and you haven’t heard anything yet. Been trying very hard not to, in fact. It’s better not to know in case it’s not going well, because you can’t help without betraying everything, and that would start a whole other thing, and.
No. You’re not going to break over this, and anyway, some never heard of villain won’t even slow down the Rangers, you’re just being silly because you’re stuck in Ortega’s apartment and that and your whole relationship is definitely the reason you’re freaking out. Yes, that’s all there is to it, no new feelings to be concerned about at all.
You allow yourself a couple minutes, hugging your legs, on the edge of crying, before you push those feelings back down. Better to think about what to present when Ortega comes back. In the couch with a book sounds good, right? Maybe you can even fall asleep mid reading, the picture of innocence.
ma-setheneran replied to your post:… Well played, Bioware. They have, at long last,...
Oh I feel this, I esc’d with Zeth and spent a whole day making up my mind :’D Finally decided to keep him independent because he’s very worried about how the war’s eventual victors might treat the other side and he feels like someone independent has to be a buffer against things going too far (and of course that has to be him because… overdeveloped sense of responsibility!) Def a tough choice tho, bc he’s always wanted to try changing some of the systems in the Republic that he doesn’t like rather than just feeling like a very celebrated cog in their wheel like he was in the class story, and he feels he can’t do that so well from the outside. But I have other Jedi characters I can headcanon as going back to the Republic to try and make some positive change and let Zeth off the hook :’D
Aaah thank you for replying (and for letting me know I’m not alone in going, ‘oh no, what do I DO???’). I think I’m gonna have to let Hylira stay independent, too. After that bit at the beginning of the Onslaught arc with a whole crew of Imperials leaving, I feel like she’d be conscious that becoming a Republic member world would make Odessen a hostile environment for an awful lot of her people (since from the way the Republic was offering a clean slate to everyone, it sounds like eventhe nominally Republic-aligned people in the Alliance might have Issues with the government and possibly outstanding warrants for their arrest) and I don’t think she could, even with some really nice carrots being dangled. Especially not without having a chance to run it by her advisors, at the very least.
Without the Eternal Fleet I don’t think she’s under the impression they have much power or even safety, but... well, Hylira’s like that drawing of Stitch Lilo does:
When you get the rhythm and words all make you coldYou’re the light, your the nightIt’s a quarter past midnightYou’re so far out there I can barely seeOh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Aww, that’s sweet. I’m thinking that my shuffle may like you 😉
Vamien likes that despite being a bit of a disaster, Theron is incredibly loyal and reliable. Theron does what he thinks is for the best, even if it really isn’t. As a pair, they tend to make wiser decisions. Theron likes the fact that Vamien seems much more in line with what he wishes the Jedi were. Allowing themselves attachment, but still being calm in the midst of a storm. Vamien cracks, yes, but Theron has never met a stronger individual.
36 - What’s their greatest strength as a couple? Their weakness?
They balance each other very well. Where Theron is all instinct (and seemingly bad decisions), Vamien is much more thoughtful (and his instincts seem to be good decisions - comparatively). Theron is more analytical, and Vamien is more diplomatic.
Their weaknesses are that they both overwork. Caf is important to them both, most days. There are other flaws, of course, but the two of them being weary around the War Table isn’t uncommon - Vamien hides it better, though.
Hylira plays three different instruments and loves music; when Senya said, ‘without accompaniment?’ Hylira’s response was ‘not necessarily. Do you have the notation available?’
Tash’saarai kidnapped (padawan-napped?) those two baby not-Mystic Voss from the pub-side storyline and took them back to the ship all, ‘HEY KIRA WE’RE PARENTS NOW :D :D’ rather than sending them to the Order through more traditional channels. (Her head contains about three original thoughts and some pocket lint, but her heart is the size of a small planet and there’s no way she’d drop two sad teenagers with a grouchy jerk who thought they were half an inch from falling just because the Sith offered them training.) (Shenanigans like this are why Lira was a Master at like 17 and Asha only got there after Killing the Emperor, Round One.)
Vayllaa is surprisingly good at languages. She’s not fluent in them, since she hasn’t been formally educated, but she has a talent for knowing enough vernacular conversation that she can hold her own in at least four languages. It’s how she used to get better tips, and thus better jobs back on Hutta - and ultimately to a position on Nar Shaddaa, where she made her escape.
Thank you so much! :D I had to really think about these; my SW didn’t even have a playlist yet.
Also holy cow I literally never shut up WOW this is going under a cut.
2. What song best describes your Jedi Knight?
My Knight Tash’saarai is… such a disaster, gosh. But she’s a determinedly optimistic creampuff even though she’s a dumb jock who sometimes makes bad choices, so I think I’m gonna go with To the Dreamers by for KING & COUNTRY;
To the dreamers/Wide-eyed believers/Hanging onto hope by a thread/To the soulful/Heart open hopeful/Keep on charging ahead
(honestly she’s also very Into the Fire from The Scarlet Pimpernel, and she may be the only character I’ve ever had with the right attitude to pull that one off, bless her empty fluffy head)
(I have been informed by other people that she’s not actually an idiot just very straightforward; possibly I get these confused because my only other straightforward character is legitimately dumb as a brick)
3. What song best describes your Sith Warrior?
Ashedan is also a disaster, but for completely different reasons. He definitely starts out fitting Natural by Imagine Dragons (he’s darkish grey at the beginning) but then he meets Vette and that… stops applying to the same degree, because he likes her So Much. (I didn’t even MEAN for him to romance her but she’s SO CUTE.)
Anyway, yeah, he starts out Very Sithy, with the ‘I’ll do what I have to to survive this’ mentality.
You gotta be so cold/To make it in this world/Yeah, you’re a natural/Living your life cutthroat
And even once it’s not true all the way through, that’s the facade he puts up. (And he really only ever makes it to lightish grey, because he murders… kind of a lot of people. A lot of them deserve it, and he doesn’t break Jaesa’s brain, but… yeah. Had it been an option he absolutely would have thrown Quinn out an airlock - not even for the betrayal itself, for the comment that the others will fall in line or die. Ashedan does not deal well with having people he loves threatened, and honestly I think having more than about three people in that category would turn him into a neurotic MESS.)
11. What song best describes your favorite ship?
Oh god now I have to PICK ONE…
Based purely on the actual in-game text, I’m gonna go with SW/Vette, because she’s got a lot of content and it means there’s a slow enough burn for me to just sit there doing the chinhands thing and going, ‘I love this and my dumb Warrior is doing more pining than an entire coniferous forest.’
… honestly, she makes him Very Soft and he only flirted like twice because he didn’t want to scare her so I think one of the best songs I have for it is Once in a Lifetime by Landon Austin.
There’s so much that I have told you/But it’s all in my head/Ask me anything you want to/‘Cause the answer is yes
TBH now that they have a pairing playlist like the entire thing is Syrup because the way that played out in my game was tooth-rottingly sweet and adorable.
OTP BONUS ROUND:
Honorable mention to IA/Vector, because the fact that my Agent was entirely twitterpated was one of the only nice things counterbalancing all the whump. That one’s definitely All I’ve Ever Known from the Hadestown musical.
All I’ve ever known is how to hold my own/But now I wanna hold you, too
Honorable mention also to Arcann, because I’m FASCINATED by his romance in THEORY but the limited amount of in-game content means that I have written like, a truly embarrassing amount of fic to flesh things out a little more. >.>
(Disclaimer; all of these rankings are made having not properly romanced either Theron or Lana, in spite of them having center stage for so much of the game. I love Theron with other people’s OCs but have not been able to really romance him with any of my own because I am entirely convinced he’s Taken and it would be Wrong to flirt with him. I have no idea why I have that response to him, specifically, and Literally No One Else. I’m going to blame it on reading a lot of excellent fic and delightful HCs, I’m just always like [clutches pearls] BUT HE IS MARRIED. With Lana, the problem is that she looks SO MUCH LIKE MY MOTHER that it is legitimately uncomfortable to contemplate.)
(Shoot can’t remember the ask meme for this one)I’d say Ronan makes a fairly typical amount of eye contact most of the time? Unless they’re consciously altering their eye contact for whatever reason.
