Meet Pringles, the adorable Mabari with two design versions and one coat of Kaddis. 🐶 Honestly just couldn't pick between no spots or spots, but who cares? Either way: I'm naming my next Mabari Pringles. 😇

Stories of Thedas - Day 11: Mabari

Character: Nym Surana

Word count: 204

Synopsis: Wynne and Nym give Dale a bath

The Mabari hound whined in protest as more soapy water was delicately wiped over his flank.

“Oh hush,” Wynne scolded, softly, “This is for your own good.”

Nym had tried to tell the older mage not to worry about bathing his dog, he would find the time to do so himself. But Wynne had been persistent, arguing that the young warden had ‘more to worry about’. In truth, she was just sick of the permeating smell.

Nym crouched down beside the large wooden tub that Dale was sat in; “How is he doing?” he asked.

“Your beast is perfectly fine, Surana, trust me.”

The younger mage smiled and looked back to his warhound. It was then that he noticed Wynne had even gone as far to heal some of his more concerning wounds, he glanced back at her before picking up a rag and joining in.

“So…Dale…that’s a…different name.” Wynne prodded diplomatically, after a beat.

Nym chuckled lightly.

“Indeed,” he began, “Alistair and I came up with it…an acronym.”

“Acronym?” Wynne looked at him, puzzled.

Nym nodded, before finally adding: “Yes, stands for ‘destroys all living evil.” He then got up nonchalantly to find a cloth to dry the dog with, leaving Wynne bewildered.

Okay so mabari are supposed to be really really smart right? Smart enough to know how to talk. And they were bred by mages.. If that's the case is it possible that because their intelligence is similar to a human's could mabari wield magic? And if they can would different kaddis help them change forms of magic? Like purple/white kaddis is lightning damage and the like?? I though about this while making my username and I really liked it. If you or anyone else knows I'd love to get an answer!

I've named my Mabari WarHound Gruzzle with both of my characters that I'm playing with now. God I fuckin love this dog!
