Born to a courtesan unable to take care of her, Mabeline was taken in by the Royal Guard of Cainhurst Castle and trained in swordsmanship.

She later became a knight and through her skill and dedication ascended to become a personal knight of the Queen; hunting blood dregs for her.

behold my little cainhurst oc ( unsurprising :/ ) also known as the world's worst dopamine overdoser known to man(?)

i've thought too much about her- so ramblings under the cut for those interested.

as implied by one of the drawings where i put her into the environment (stairs to the queen's chambers) i always thought of her as being an interactable npc in the game

appears after joining the vileblood covenant

choosing to talk to her will cause her to welcome the player, albeit in disbelief but not surprise- it's not as if anyone has had access to the castle in god knows how long

and to simply join? it makes one raise an eyebrow but she literally does not care like ok lol welcome to the club weirdo

prompting her to talk again she will elaborate on the tasks of a knight dedicated to the queen- invading, blood dregs, etc.

you can talk to her again to learn of her own motivations, simply explaining she cares not for indulging in the queen's blood (in fact she outright REFUSES it, annalise doesnt care), only that she succeeds in filling out her mission of killing a hunter, and bringing the blood dreg to the queen

if the player chooses to attack her she will only be hostile upon that interaction- for instance, if you die and come back to her place of residence, she won't be hostile and you can simply talk to her again

explaining that- because the player character is dreaming, therefore undead- it is not worth the kill in the slighest, for she will gain no blood dreg, finding it useless to continue fighting you, lest you challenge her once more

you can just repeat this cycle if you keep dying to her lol

thats all i'd thought of as of now, i just found her really fascinating

i was not kidding when i described her as "world's worst dopamine overdoser" she has no moral compass she just wants to feel the good chemicals, its tragic how detached she is from, well, everything.

What did you mean by “dopamine overdoser” when talking about Mabel?

she kills not for the blood of the queen, but for the thrill and momentary happiness- she never ceases with it, it's like an insatiable hunger

"dopamine overdoser" is just a funny little way to sum her behaviour up djbdhs shes far more cruel than, say, people with adhd who seek out dopamine

its usually through video games or little tasks like that, not killing lol

I think Mabeline would have been one of my fave npcs if she was in game 🥺💕 Her design is so cool /gen

As a person with “weird” eyes myself, I appreciate that you gave Mabel a lazy eye. Not many people do this with their ocs. I’m also obsessed with how strong her jaw is on the first art. Idk why but it looks so attractive 😳 Oh, and lastly I really love that you draw Adeline with freckles and a lot of moles. These features are just small details, but they’re very cute!
