How They Show Their Love

Basically I was trying to write a full fic but then thought of this picture and was inspired to just write down some thoughts.

Edwin had always felt awkward about having people in his space but Charles was different. It happened without Edwin even really realizing it until one day Charles was leaning on him, speaking close to him. Whenever his jacket was ruffled or his bow tie was crooked Charles would step forward and gently fix it. Edwin would sometimes swat his hand away playfully claiming that he could do it himself. Charles knew that Edwin secretly loved it when he would fix his clothes.

They should their love and closeness in different ways. For Edwin it would be an occasional complement to Charles. Charles would use physical touch to show his love for Edwin. He would sling his arm around Edwin while laughing about some remark Edwin had made. He would grab his hand in excitement while explaining something he had discovered. Charles could tell when Edwin was feeling down. Whenever this occurred Charles would pull Edwin in for a long hug. Edwin loved this.

Edwin realized he was in love with Charles when Charles had gone out for some research and returned with a present for Edwin. He had gotten Edwin a pocket telescope. Charles could tell how much Edwin loved it since he was simply speechless. Edwin had never really experienced love and Charles obviously loved him very much to remember that he had been wanting one for a long time.

Charles realized he was in love with Edwin when Edwin had had bought him a record player and some of his favorite records. Edwin would let Charles to listen to his music but only when he was out. Edwin excitedly helped Charles put on the music. When it was playing Edwin stepped forward and took Charles' hands. He began trying to dance with him. Charles laughed causing Edwin to pause. Charles smiled and pulled him in close. He whispered thank you to him.
