My poor floof cat had to have several teeth extracted. She thinks this has been a very long day. And the moment I wasn't watching her, got herself up into my window. *sigh* There's really no keeping cats off of things.

I did laundry and now Ember is hoarding my socks like a cat-shaped dragon.

My floof cat has had her teeth cleaning and is wobbling about the apartment, still getting over the anesthesia. That’s one super stressful thing concluded successfully.

Now to get through the rest of them.

Someone should invent cat-friendly furniture - chairs and sofas with replaceable scratching sections. I have three kitty trees, and my cats still want to scratch on my chairs.

For that matter, it would be nice if kitty trees were set up to be rewrapped and reupholstered. Mine are structurally sound, but looking really sad at this point. I suppose if I had an industrial stapler, I could do the rewrapping of heavy twine stuff. But the upholstery bits are more complicated.

My orange kitty gave me, and herself, quite the scare yesterday.

I came home from work and one of my stove burners was full on - beyond full on, really, since the light-the-burner thing was still clicking away - and she had completely frizzled whiskers (where they weren’t gone) and crispy fur in places. She seemed okay, but I took her to the emergency vet to make sure.

She now has a really goofy haircut, since they had to partially shave her to check for burns, and she’s avoiding the kitchen (which is fine! do not touch the stove ever again!), but otherwise is fine.

I now have stove knob covers, though I’m not sure just un-knobbing the stove when not in use wouldn’t be more effective. You’d think having to push in and turn the knobs would make them cat proof, but apparently not.

Ember, your name does not mean you’re supposed to try to set things - or yourself - on fire.

My hairbrained orange cat just tried to tip over my drink. It’s strangely dangerous to have a cat on one’s knee.

I think I’m going to have to start pouring the bottled Coke into glasses, so it’s not tempting to Catus Pestus.

I am trapped at my desk. There is a thunderstorm and my floof cat has decided to hide under my chair.

Send help. Or at least a bottle of Coke.
