He barely got a 'wait' out of his mouth before her was pushed lightly (because of couse Xing's most forceful was so light) into the couch.
Shouldn't have sat on the dang thing to begin with that day. Then again, what else would he have done? Infatuated as he'd been, he'd've done anything she'd asked.
That was just how he was when those feelings settled in for the first time. Compliant. Docile. All too eager to please, traits he thought he'd had properly beaten out of him always seemed to rear their ugly heads like some emotionally masochistic hydra. Cut one head off, yet there would always be another in it's place next time such circumstances came to call.
He looked up at her returning--
He knew what those were.
("They were so good, dude. Making me immortal's just the peach on top!")
He knew what those were.
("I might've eaten.. aaall of 'em?")
He knew what those were.
("But we can get more! Once Heaven's ours, you and me'll eat the whole garden again! Forever!")
"...You brought those here?"
No, no, no, no, no. This couldn't happen. So much about this couldn't happen. Shouldn't happen.
"Don't you remember what happened the last time someone down here messed around with those?"
"Do you think your father would let you off with a slap on the wrist if he caught you handing those out to people? Do you even know what he'd do to the poor sap who eats it?"
