Couldve done with ALL missy. She stole the show. I was clappin ass so hard when she came on
Right!?!? I mean Katy was fine, but Missy just killed out there.
I started busting moves in my seat so hard all my friends were looking at me like "Damn!!! You really ARE part black!!!" ;) LOL

What were you before you were an Orthodox?
Just a non-denominational Protestant. I had been most recently attending a Dutch Reformed church. (When I was younger my dad was a pentecostal preacher.)

Surely the acquisition of knowledge and development of thought is beneficial to what you could or should fulfil according to Christ?
Of course! I think the question all along there was theological method, how to do theology, from where to do theology, not whether theological learning itself is something bad lol, because you're gonna be learning either way, it just depends on if that's coming from experience or learning from a book. James Cone says this himself in God of the Oppressed: he wrote a freakin dissertation on Barth and found that knowledge did nothing for helping his black students work through their experience of oppression. So the whole book is him developing a theology from the black spirituals, not Barth or whoever. It's not 'knowledge' but where you're getting the knowledge from, because this totally orients your attitude and use of that knowledge. I can read every NT Wright book I want and still not have done any organizing with the poor; I think the interesting question is how much time I'd have for NT Wright after I've put myself into life with the poor?

Where is this from?
It's from Fukuyama's "End of History" article he wrote in...1989, I want to say. Here's a link to it. It's horrible.

what the fuck ew I liked some of his stuff :(
Really? Ah, no, I haven't been able to find anything I like in Fukuyama. The whole "End of History" hypothesis just seems like bourgeois justification for the current (economic) status quo, combined with a bad reading of Marx and Hegel (saying that both have a notion of telos and End of History, which is pretty untenable), further combined with a weird amount of racism and orientalism? I don't know. I'm so bored by him.

lol what a fucking nerd
Lol, who the hell thinks that the End of History is a tenable metaphysical thesis. What a h*cka nerd. We should steal his lunch money (especially since it's worth more than most people's life incomes).

1. if you could make a 30 second speech to the whole world, what would you say? That I feel the same way about them as I do about myself: that they have so much potential, & there may still be hope, but they seriously need to get their shit together, & I'd list as many ways as I could think of within the time frame.
2. if you were going to die at midnight, what would you be doing at 11:45pm? Cuddling my fiance, or if he wasn't around, probly ingesting any & every calming chemical I could get my hands on.
3. what would you change if you knew you were NEVER going to die? Um. The fact that I was never gonna die, haha. I don't mean to get all depressing, but I've always greatly craved death. The fact that I physically exist, even when nothing is wrong, just feels so awkward & uncomfortable to me. Like the time in kindergarten when a teacher was convinced I was supposed to go to after-care after school one day & I knew I never had to go to that, so I knew it was wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. A huge mix-up, a misunderstanding that caused me great panic & desperation for the mistake to be corrected, for me to be rescued from the horror. Buuut, if that's not a viable option, I'd probably either start the revolution for vampire rights like on True Blood (assuming I'm alive forever 'cause I got turned, 'cause it's me, so how else could it have happened, right?) or I would be too lazy for that, sleep as much as physically possible whilst awaiting the inevitable apocalypse & just change how bright the sun can get.
4. what do you believe stands between you and complete happiness? Multiple things. The way I look. Money, or lack thereof. Other people. Sobriety. My way(s) of thinking. Etcetera.
5. how old would you be if you didn’t know how old you really were? (what age do you think you best represent if you didn’t know your actual age) Right now..I might go so far as to say 17 or 18. That's the oldest I've ever felt, ugh.
6. when was the last time you tried something new? explain. Uh..I pretty rarely ever try new things, but I've been trying to work on that. So I've been watching a lot more new movies than I used to. Watched one this morning, & I'm gonna start reading a new book soon. Also hey, if anyone's reading this, recommend to me any gothic (new or old)/industrial/etc. music that I might not already know of, please :)
7. if you had a friend that you allowed speak to you the same way you speak to yourself, how long would you allow that person to be your friend? I don't think I would stop associating with them, because I would see that they mean well & clearly really need help, so I'd want to be there to help them.
8. what makes you smile? When muses reply to my replies :P plenty of things..fluffy baby animals, long warm hugs, seeing people/characters get violently maimed past the point of recognition like they deserve in retaliation of a horrible & unforgivable act they've committed..
9. where is the strangest place you’ve fallen asleep? Mm..next to a werewolf? Hah, but um, best I can think of is in my tub or possibly on a pool float. There might be stranger that I cannot currently recall
10. if you could have your own tv show, what would it be about? elaborate if you wish. Mm, I wanna write movies more than shows, 'cause I think I might run out of things to happen to the characters/things for them to do after a certain amount of time. But I could go for much longer than one episode like, for example, how The Twilight Zone or Goosebumps had new characters/stories for every episode. What I do like is American Horror Story's idea, new plot every season. So I'd probably do something like that, & it'd definitely have to be a psychological thriller/horror/fantasy all rolled into one.
11. if you could ask one person one question, who would it be and what would you ask? I think I'd ask the goddess, "Will you please answer all the questions that I have?" My Questions: —————————- 1. What's your favorite scary movie? (or, alternatively, your greatest fear) 2. What, do you suppose, is the meaning of life? (& don't say 42) If you think the meaning is different for each & every one of us, what do you think is the meaning of Miley Cyrus's? 3. We all know being human sucks. (Not the show--the show is awesome & I really need to catch up on it.) What mythical species would you prefer to be? 4. If you were forced to become a god of a new planet & create entirely new sets of species for it, along with an entirely new civilization, what would those things be like? Explain in detail. 5. Invent a new holiday. What would it be about, what would it be called, & what traditions would commonly be practiced on this day? 6. Your super-power of choice? 7. You are Lady Gaga's fashion designer. But! She's been infected & has, unfortunately, turned into a zombie. Her billionaire doctors (who have been holding out on the rest of us all along) gave her a miracle drug to keep her from being contagious & allow her to still be somewhat mentally competent, but she's not always quite "all" there. So you clock in for your shift (or, do fashion designers do the clock-in thing? Maybe they get paid on commission?) on an average (well, as average as it can be) Thursday morning...but oh, God... It's plain to see that Gaga is having one of her bad days again. Jaw fallen open causing black sludge of what once was saliva to dribble down her chin & nearly landing in her cleavage, left eye rolling back, & apparently the goddamn makeup team wasn't able to blend her flaking cheek skin to even close to passable today. Sigh...of course. But that's not your problem. So you promptly hook her up to her espresso IV bag, let the caffeine & cream settle into her system, & get down to business. "So what are we thinking for your photoshoot next week, Miss Gaga?" You proceed the question with caution, but make an effort to sound as casual as possible--you don't want to risk upsetting a client in such a fragile state, & the strangest things seem to set her off these days... Gaga slowly rises from her regal recliner, dead skin majestically snowing from her forearms down to the tips of her toes & a mysterious brown spot being left behind in the spot in which she was sitting. She makes an honest attempt to speak, but apparently her intravenous coffee did not do its job & only guttural sounds emit from her gaping mandible. You curse yourself for not remembering to make it a double-shot this time after what happened last time, when she rips the leaking tube from a vein on her left wrist & eerily begins to sway. Her movements start off sluggish, at the pace of a snail flailing for what's left of its hopeless life in the deep-end of a pool-full of molasses. A piece of her upper lip separates from its counterpart & flies far off to the side, nowhere to be found (but you almost get the sense that she..meant for that to happen, like a form of symbolism?) but Gaga's still got it--the music is in her soul, so what started off as a disturbing potential cry for medical attention has now transformed into a beautiful interpretive dance as an answer to your question. You are overwhelmed with honor that she has created this masterpiece just for you. But now you've been given a new question to answer: what do you interpret the symbolism in her dance to mean in reference to the clothing you must create for the stunning monster? Please explain in great detail, baring in mind that Lady Gaga will become abruptly infuriated if her message did not come across & even a stitch is out of place. 8. What tattoos do you want? If none, then what is your favorite color? 9. Food? 10. What would you do to Jennifer Lawerence? 11. Animal?
