MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Edward Bennet & Mina Darcy
"Your defect is a propensity to hate everybody."
"And yours," she replied with a smile, "is willfully to misunderstand them.”
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Lennox MacDougal as Lydia Bennet
The youngest Bennet sister, she is gossipy, immature, headstrong, and self-involved. She is, in her mother’s estimation, the silliest girl in the country. Unlike Edward and Jane, Lydia flings herself headlong into romance and ends up running off with Wickham much to her family’s dismay.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Fionn MacDougal as Christopher “Kit” Bennet
The younger Bennet brother, handsome but overly enthralled with drink, sport, merriment, and fashion. At his best, Kit is charming, spirited, humorous, and good-natured. At his worst, he is aimless, irritable, and always affronted by whatever good advice his oldest siblings try to give him.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Morag MacDougal as Mary Bennet
The middle Bennet sister. Despite the fact that she was once described as the most accomplished girl in the neighbourhood, Mary is bookish, conceited, and pedantic. Though much more sensible than Kit and Lydia, she is still considered to be very silly by their mother.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Cai Jones as George Wickham
A handsome but capricious militia officer. Wickham’s humor and friendly disposition cause Edward to befriend him initially, but Mina’s revelation about Wickham’s fickle and disreputable past clues him in to his new friend’s irresponsible nature. Nonetheless, he is quite fond of Lydia.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Una MacDougal as Mrs Bennet
Mr Bennet’s wife, a woman with a sarcastic, cynical sense of humor that she uses to purposefully irritate her husband. Though she loves her children (Edward in particular), she often fails as a parent, preferring to withdraw from the never-ending marriage concerns of those around her rather than offer help.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Hamish MacDougal as Mr Bennet
The patriarch of the Bennet family, a gentleman of modest income who resides at Longbourn with his wife and five unmarried children. A kind-hearted but often foolish and noisy man whose only goal in life is to see his progeny happily married. Because of his enthusiasm, Mr Bennet often repels the very suitors whom he tries to attract for his children.
MACDOUGAL PRIDE & PREJUDICE Miles Bletchley as Charles Bingley
George Darcy’s considerably wealthy best friend. Bingley’s purchase of Netherfield, an estate near the Bennets, serves as the impetus for the novel. His easygoing nature contrasts with Mina’s initially discourteous demeanor. He is blissfully uncaring about class differences as evidenced by his love for Jane.
