Question for the people, ONLY out of curiosity --

Does anyone within the Mac Hall fandom ACTUALLY care about the ethics/'correctness'/argument of shipping characters? Its a comic based in reality, not a 1:1 recreation of macdonald hall @ bgsu in 2000-04. Despite this, i have been hesitant to step into fandom because im worried about any ship being considered rpf.

I think within M|H Vol. whatever, a decent chunk of the commentary separates writer, artist, and all people involved from their comic counterpart. Here are some chunks i found relevant... Hopefully posting this doesnt send me directly to hell. .

I've spent a few days putting my thoughts together and writing on the topic, but i thought, "Before i post this master thesis about gay mac hall to tumblr, why dont i just ask??"

⚫️It is 2:42 PM on Sept 18th, 2004, at BGSU. And her date is six minutes late.

🔴 In 2004 or so, I discovered a webcomic called Mac Hall, created and drawn by Ian "@Malakym" McConville, set in BGSU. It's also when I found @chaokiller 's Sonic Battle art style tutorial.

Both of them were really big influences on my art style. Still are, really.

So when I came up with this Y2K aesthetic girl (how do you wash a vinyl/cotton top?), I decided to throw it back. Just with more computing power and complexity than I would've been able to pull off back in th' day, on my family's cheap HP desktop.

And also, I pretended I still can't draw hands.

I can, I just don't like to.
