A new Macintosh model was previewed on this issue’s cover, but despite its ability to be used as a TV and all-black peripherals the Macintosh TV wasn’t particularly high-powered as a computer. Steven Levy provided his annual “Game Hall of Fame” (and picked Pathways Into Darkness as the best “Role-Playing Game”), but his regular column did wonder what use the Newton really was and whether, like the original Macintosh, it had been offered for sale too early.
