Morning Coffee
It was Sunday morning, and James had just risen from the world’s goriest hangover. He cleaned himself up, put his darkest pair of sunglasses on, and tread over to Rain Drop Cafe, because he needed a very specific kind of cup of coffee to be able to tackle the day ahead. There was the usual offer of pastry that James rejected - he wasn’t much fond of them, except for a specific kind of donut from a specific store, and mysteriously, over the last few days, cookies. He went outside to his usual seat, and frowned when he found somebody there. His head hurt too much to deal with this. It was a weekend morning, and so there were other seats available, but then he realized it was someone he recognized, and he eased up a little. “Mack, right? Mind if I sit with you?”
